Another game another midfielder in defence.

Probably our most influential midfielder to boot.

Klopp opts tor ‘safety first’ and the fastest way to integrate Kabak is to play him next to the skipper.

Didn’t work out too well on the weekend

I can see the crybabies are already here.

Honestly what he Phillips done wrong. He is as good in defence as Hendo but when Hendo isn’t in midfield the whole team suffers.

It’s glaringly obvious

Just stating that it didn’t work out too well on the weekend.

Your comment would have been great - if on the weekend it had worked out… but it didn’t.

It’s not crying it’s just an observation

Philips has been good because he has been used sparingly and intelligently. Klopp watches him many times more than we do (which is occasionally) and definitely knows to pick the games for Philips.

Maybe the defenders on the bench are inexperienced in Champions league. It may change later on in the game.

Angelino plays on the left, right! So he will be coming at TAA, that guy has good pace and decent footwork. Poulsen (on the bench) is pretty good in air.

Not the game to start a 18th CB pairing. We need our captain :woman_pilot: there .

Need to keep Adrian from putting the laxatives into Alissons coffee again…
Disaster awaits if that guy has to come on as replacement again
COYR 2-0

Hendo has been excellent in defense the hole he leaves in midfield is the problem. he cant be in two places at once

Ye but on balance of things we miss him more in midfield than what we need him at the back.

To be fair he has been good in defence without really being excellent not bad but still a square peg in a round hole.

We just miss him so much in the middle

I hope this is the last time we see Hendo at the back. Not that he is bad, but because we desperately need him in midfield.

Looking forward to seeing Upamecano tonight.

See if he lives up to the hype

Come on reds this is our last chance of silverware now.

Give Gini a break .
The lads run his socks off since hendo and fab have had to drop into centreline denfence .
He does a lot of untidy work in midfield .
If we’re to get a result tonight ,he’ ll be behind it .
Come on red men

While I certainly agree that he has been a loss in midfield it’s pretty clear that klopp doesn’t want to throw 2 new centrebacks into a team that plays with a high line. To be honest I tend to agree with him. if you’re playing high you need someone to push that line up and two new and young centrebacks with limited experience in the PL or Europe probably doesn’t give you that leadership.

I’d love to see Hendo back in midfield, lord we need him there but at what cost?
