Nice time to score a goal. Clinical. Two footed player so Jota can hit it early on the left, first time, no problem. Two good passes before the shot.
Been a decent game. We’ve had chances. They’ve been a bit of a threat too. I haven’t given up on top four. Finish the job here, get the three points, try to get some rest into us, and maybe regroup a bit to finish the season stronger.
Fourth and CL champs. That will do nicely!

Oh yes. Salah switched off stealth mode when the 2 minutes injury time were shown.
Couldn’t it have come 20 or 40 minutes earlier, the goal? I sensed it then and had given up on us scoring by the time we did. Hate feeling like I have no idea what the hell’s happening.

Alison might have conceded a pen, but usually that’s given as one motion and the goalie gets the benefit of the doubt. But yes, if that’s a pen, the goalie clipping Sadio’s foot as he goes past him is definitely a pen.
Why didn’t Mane go down? Have we been conditioned to stay on our feet, because we know the refs won’t give us anything?
Kane/Bruno/DCL, etc, would’ve been on the floor as soon as Patricio got his hand to the boot. Then the media would scream a 100% pen.

Oh, speaking of the ref, several times Fabinho got his foot in to nick the ball away and a foul was given. It is infuriating. It’s like the Prem refs haven’t evolved to see this clean, continental style of breaking up the play. A world class defensive midfielder is thus being dragged back to being merely very good indeed, as the ref is shaving a good 10% of effectiveness off him.

They don’t pass to each other. 
But it’s not just in this game. Every single time we play in this country, the players have to pull back for fear of cards and sendings off. Our players are not arbitrated to the same standards as others and, consequently, cannot fully express themselves on the pitch.
That is why our performances in Europe are so much better: fair and even decisions.
