The new John Moss?
Aside from not carding the worst of the Everton after-kicks, I don’t think he had too bad a half.
Ok, 1-0 up, T-Rex jokes incoming - so far so good
Happy with the first half. Gomez, Hendo and Darwin stood out for me.
Some players still seem way off form. Fabinho and Matip in particular
A typical Dyche set up.
Has that fat fuck forgotten to bring a yellow card? How many fouls will it take for him to book Tarkowski?
Been a solid half, Bacjetic is getting better and better. Fantastic link up for the goal between Nunez and Mo.
Just can’t concede corners as that is the only threat for them atm.
Ref has been poor, not so much in awarding freekicks but on not issuing cautions, for me you commit 3 fouls on the same player in a half you have to be cautioned.
Our midfield has been good. TAA has been good both offensively and even defensively. Our attack trio has been very good individually but other than the counter attack leading to the goal, they understandably have yet to display the kind of understanding and fluidity that our all conquering trio had. But overall a combative and competitive display. Expect Everton to come out in the 2nd half with more aggression and we need to deal with that. More of this attitude and passion and we will do good.
at least he is giving us great pace and ability to counter dangerously. Salah would not have scored without him. Time will tell if he ever himself becomes a prolific scorer, but crossing my fingers and agree it’s promising.
Half time report:
Some way short of peak Liverpool, but this has the blood pumping again. We care and we are up for it. Gomez, Bajcetic and Nunez have been the pick of the bunch for me, but most of them are giving it a go.
I know that’s the bare minimum expected, but we’ve had so many flat games that putting a shift in is now noteworthy!
Anyway, lovely to see Mo get a goal again, from a terrific break.
I’d like to see us keep our foot on the pedal and build on this, ideally with a Darwin Nunez goal as I think it might open the floodgates for him, and it would be nice if Gakpo can open his account.
Anyway, however it comes, three points is the most important thing. Ideally we keep pressing on and keep our hunger.
We need a reactive emojo combining love with laughter.
After the comments Carragher made before the game saying Gakpo didnt appear to be a Klopp type player because he doesn’t have the pace i wonder what hes thinking now after watching motor uo the pitch like a gazelle.
There are reasons to be optimistic 100%. He is very talented, the less pressure we place on him the better. He has only had a few games. There have been many a player who shone in their first few games so lets just keep And not expect to much.
But I agree he is very tidy
Lovely goal from Liverpool. But what in the name of holy mortifying fuck is Jordan Pickford doing. Is he really England’s best keeper.
Happy with the effort so far. Very important to go into half time with our noses in front. Everton will have to perhaps try and play football if they want to get anything fr the game now, and hopefully that opens things up for us to add a couple more
Didn’t know Mossy got rogered in the woods!
He’s been weak, 14 fouls and no cards, then gives that weak free kick against Trent.
No & never has been.
Why? I thought he has been really good. It’s novel to see Mo actually get free kicks.
Only because he’s 20 years younger than me.
Nunez has played well, don’t understand why we even need to qualify that statement.
Gakpo is doing the link up well and I like Salah and Nunez having a bit more space to play in rather than fighting for it around advanced midfielders.
Its not been great but its enough I think to be solid and expect our very good forward players to create enough to win a game.
Henderson and Bajcetic doing a good job of helping Fabinho, not getting too far forward and holding it together fairly well.
Thisbis all said with the caveat that we are playing against likely the worst team in the league at the moment. Theres a lot left to do in this game but we at least have looked competant in the first half (for a change).
