I had thought Gakpo had average pace but looking at the replay of our goal, he looked very quick on the break. Just takes a second or 2 longer to get to his top speed than other quick players.
Maybe Everton players just exceptionally slow.
Ref not the worst I’ve seen, but I don’t think he was very good either.
He let Everton foul a lot, without going near a card. Some of the fouls left a little in there too. Then he bought some Everton diving too easily, and let them go over easily to break our momentum and win a free kick.
Still, the standard of refereeing is so poor, generally, that his display so far isn’t too bad in the grand scheme of things.

Much better 1st half. Need to keep it up. Matip, Fabinho need to improve 2nd half. One more goal should be enough to beat these sh t.

Start fast. Start committed. Dyche will have them fired up to come out of the traps. We have to match that initial intensity, then use our brains and find a couple more quality moments to win by two.

One other positive is the unpredictability, our attacking areas pretty even, 1/3 form either side and 1/3 from central…
That said, we seem to be far more dangerous from the left, hope Trent ups his game 2nd half and muster some of his famous deliveries…
