Simon Hooper has been confirmed as the referee that will be in charge of the Merseyside derby on Monday. #lfc [liverpool echo]
Think I agree with that line up to a man.
Get daydreamer Joe out the side and bring in some steel, someone who’ll put himself about even if he might be a level or 2 below in the technicality department in big Nat.
Milner in midfield is a must, what good is it having someone like Naby in there if he’s just gonna get bullied all game, the little moments of brilliance hasnt been worth it over seeing the midfield get brutalised the last few games, time to sacrifice that shit, Milner will at least go someway to helping.
Maybe you didn’t see Everton’s game against Arsenal. If you did perhaps you would have noticed their three-man, big-unit midfield. We’re going to need three in midfield and they will need to be experienced and made of strong stuff
I haven’t watched a Bitters game since last Derby. didn’t watch a game all weekend, except the opening 15min of our match. could tell we were done, shut it off.
I would change it up a bit for this game, because clearly everything we have tried already hasn’t worked my lineup would be:
Allison
Gomez. Phillips. matip. Robbo
Bajcetic. TAA
carvalhio
Salah. Nunez. Gakpo
TAA is struggling this season at right back so maybe a good opportunity to switch him to a two in midfield with Bajcetic they can both sit a bit to protect with TAA able to find the balls to hit on the counter. Carvalhio can play in his preferred position and hopefully create and open up spaces for the front 3.
I don’t know much about him. Have we had him before?
Once this season against Southampton.
Thiago should never be played as an attacking midfielder.
I have this crazy feeling that the news about City will have waken them up. Maybe they’ve been reminded that they’ve been cheated out of 2 PL titles at least and that they are not as shit as their latest performances suggest.
Maybe they display some hunger and fight and properly punish the bitters.
Don’t want to make too much of this game, yes it’s a derby, but for us it’s just another opportunity to try and find some form. VVD and Jota back in training is great news, although I don’t expect the former to feature yet as he has been out such a long time. I would stick with the midfield three that have played the last few games, best combo we’ve had all season, although you could argue it’s time to try the captain again. The defence is now a big worry, it’s expecting a lot of VVD to come back from injury and fix our problems there, especially when he’s been out of form as well. Milner to put in another vintage RB performance (is he fit?). The front three really need to start scoring some of their chances, it’s really piling the pressure on a leaky defence. Elliot the only one with any confidence in front of goal right now and will provide lots of energy, needs to play.
-----------------Alisson----------------
Milner—VVD-----Gomez—Robbo
----Kieta-----Bajcetic-----Thiago—
----Elliot-----Salah------Nunez-----
That’s all, thank you for listening.
Most important man for us on Monday and for every remaining game this season is the man who’s been missing all season…our 12th man.
Shankly’s team went 7 years without a trophy but I’m sure the 12th man turned up every week.
The current manager and players have gone 7 months without a trophy and the 12th man has disappeared.
Signs of generation changes I suppose
Maybe I’m extrapolating too much, but I’m wondering if it shows in our team’s performances?
21 points at home and 8 points away this season.
This season’s YNWAs have been pretty poor. Lots of folk putting their scarves down and clapping before the second chorus.
We need to get the 12th man back into the game and let our lads know we back them win, lose or draw.
COYR YNWA
Not 21st century fans. They are likely to switch allegiances if we become crap.
For some 21st century fans the season is now over, they will get interested when the window reopens.
Careful, you don’t want to be called a top red…
Diogo Jota trained with #LFC again today as planned as he nears a return to action. Ben Doak, who has been absent from the last three games with a minor muscle problem, is expected to be back in training by the end of the week …
Any news on VVD and Firmino?
Hope at the end of the season we will look back at this one and say ‘this was the most important game of the season - the turning point of the nightmare we had so far’
Unfortunately it seems more likely that this one will end our Top4 hopes.
We might be 13 points of Top4 with a draw and going to St. James Park next.
Must win game.
Melo also returned to training today.
