Can’t complain about that half can we…oh wait
We’ve been tactically shocking after the red card. We totally downed tools. Back to our lethargic best.
Been poor since having a player extra, need to turn the superiority in numbers to goals and better possession just passing it sideways doesn’t move them around much. We need to switch play and also look playing penetrating passes with better movement.
But fantastic that we are 2 up
We are looking to control the game, and have done so for the most part
2-0 winning at half time…that too an away game this season. I will take that !
Not sure about that, but for Alisson this could be easily 2-2 he’s been immense.
No thanks
Of course, I’m delighted with 2-0 at half time.
…but I’m torn between knowing they’re down to 10 and smashing in 7 against them, while in the context of the season would be happy with just seeing this out to a 2-0 win.
Big difference between this Liverpool team, and the good Manc and Cheaty teams of the past, it that they would go for the throat when up a man, and push the goal difference. We tend to pull the foot off the gas, when we find ourselves up a man.
We don’t really have a choice, do we? Hendo pressing like he’s still 18 and no where near his side of the pitch which will inevitably tire himself out?
Keita and Milner for Fabinho and Stefan
Their keeper has made two saves also so it could be 4-0.
We’ve slowed the pace down, yes. I’m also not thrilled about how open we’ve been at times.
Let’s not pretend we haven’t had excellent chances through our patience though. Couple of nearly chances from Mo and some chances from set pieces.
Was that Cody Gakpo or was that Sadio Mane scoring that goal?
How many times have we struggled when the opposition goes down to 10 men recently, we just start playing too much possession football at the back, which for me the way we play it isn’t making the opposition move they just have to shuffle 10 yards and keep us playing in front of them

I’m just happy we’re in front at half time. Let’s not compare this current team to any great team yet.
Shut up Jamie, talking bobbins
How ironic, that we were all over them, and the red card and game stop broke our rhythm instead of helping. We should be partying and circulating the ball with much more ease after that, but possession is shared and it’s Newcastle that are dangerous…
Normally they should either lose dual width or yield the center with one man less, but we are not forcing them to leave gaps…
Being vs 10 men when you are 2-0 up should get you a lot of space when they come forward, but obviously you need to have the game initiative and we became passive…
Hope Klopp handles our tactics vs 10 for the second half.
Looking back, it’s amazing that we are 2-0 given the periods of dominance between the two teams. Hope we can play better now, we can win this game and would be such a shame not to get over the line.
