Arsenal have suffocated us. Our problems have large been caused by the difficulty they’ve given us playing in our half. That defensive aggressiveness is key to arsenal’s success the past 2 seasons.

To make things interesting, It seems Zinchenko cannot deal with Pace…I would get Diaz on the right, Gakpo in the middle and Jota on the left…

Can’t say we deserve the equalizer at all. But sometimes when you just dig in, you get lucky and thats what Diaz did there. Just hustle and got lucky.

Well that was one of the most crappy, sloppy, stupid, lucky fluke goals against the run of play I have ever seen.
Nice chipped ball in by Gravy… Diaz proceeded to do everything wrong except he didn’t give up and the Arsenal defenders seemed more interested in taking advantage of the chance to grab and kick him like they have all day and ended up getting so in each others way Gabriel was barely able to get a strong enough hand on a ball going away from goal to claw it back in….

Even luckier than the world class save going straight to Saka for their goal. But luck is luck, and it even-ed out.
That couldn’t have been better timing. A half time reset and a finger pointing exercise in the Arsenal dressing room.

Smash and grab goal at the end. Nice by Diaz to not give up.
Within a minute of kick off, Jota nearly through on goal. After that, it was Arsenal threatening throughout. The goal for them was a lucky rebound off Allison save, but they made that by pulling our defence all over the place.
The goal on the stoke of HT enables us to go in all square. I’ll take that HT score.

Need to change something in MF for the 2HF.
I think the positioning is not quite there wrt knowing/finding where the spaces are. Also, we’re not switching play fast enough and making it easier for the Arsenal press to get there…
Maybe move Gakpo to the center and Jota to the right, ahead of Nunez’s entry…
The inside run from wide is constantly available for Martinelli…

What an awful game. Our midfield are shocking. No work rate, no tempo and slowing everything down. Hopefully our lucky equaliser will give us a bit more energy to step it up second half. How Gravenberch is in the starting lineup for such an important match I do not know.
I picked up my iPad, opened the right thread so I could unleash my annoyance at a team that is causing its own destruction, getting pressed off the ball, getting out worked, bad passing, bad defending, nothing in attack, then ……
Cheating bastard tries to handball because he knows the ref won’t give it, however karma prevails and he handballs a goal.
Anyway, we need to make a tactical change, a lineup change, or both.
