0-3, I won’t accept anything else. I need an excuse to drink the red wine I haven’t bought yet! My night off!

time is too short to hate a football club.

Atletico and Simeone play a particular brand of football that works for them. being in a league with Real and Barca cannot be an easy task.

If Bobby plays it will be 300 game for the club.

First time I’d probably take a draw this season (did think that against Chelsea but haven’t since).

A draw and no injuries isn’t bad in the scheme of this group to be honest.

Will say about Ath Madrid’s rest (sometimes it isn’t a good thing, we’ve been on 12 days rest at times and looked woeful and jaded), some though not a lot of their team won’t have played for almost 3 weeks now might be good a time as any.

I don’t think I start Hendo for this one, I think he is still finding his way back to form and when he didn’t come off at the weekend I expected we wouldn’t see him for this.

Fabinho however is back but it does make me slightly concerned on Milner who two games a week has looked dreadful though coming off the back of a two week training only May be ok and he will be in CM.

I’d probably start Jota but the gap between the games isn’t a short one so we do get an extra day on Man Utd.

There’s a question as to whether Matip can manage 3 games in 8 days. Could imagine Gomez coming in there.
There’s not much flexibility in midfield with 3 players injured. Can’t see Milner starting this one though. Can Naby handle the workload?
Upfront it’s a choice between Firmino or Jota. Personally I like the idea of Jota from the bench for the last half hour or so.

Wouldn’t be surprised to see a Milner - Fabinho - Hendo midfield, I think Klopp might see this as time for wise heads.

Yeah I think Millie probably starts this one ahead of Keita. Might be also why he took him off on Saturday, albeit it was already late in the game. Then for United we’ll see, also depends how tonight goes.

I can see Gomez coming in for Matip.

I get the feeling that we probably value the United game more than this one, so might be saving Milner for that. We don’t have that many options though. Fabinho is almost certain to start, so it’s a question of Keïta, Jones, or Henderson if Milner doesn’t. By process of elimination, I can only presume that we’re going to start Jones and Henderson, and take the latter off for one of Ox, Keïta or Milner around the 60th minute. Depending on the fitness of Jones though, we might see another double substitution.

The wildcard would be whether Jürgen believes Ox is on the right trajectory for now, might see an outside chance to start. I’m not ready to write him off as many are right now, I think he needs a bit more patience, but could well yield good returns for us.

Jones has not travelled.

I didn’t see that, thanks! The last I saw was that he’s back in training. I guess this means we would ideally have Ox finally up his game.

He was part of the warm up, but Klopp said he would stay in Liverpool and make next steps towards full training hopefully in preparation for United.

The only major question is midfield.

Jota or Firmino is less so, I think Firmino starts tonight.

Milner or Keita?
If we have Milner, Fabinho and Genderson its more shield than attack, so personally would go for Keita.
He played well on Saturday and deserves a shot.

So you’re not concerned about Matip playing the 3 games?
I’d go for Naby stylewise too, but again, his fragility is a concern.
There’s also the fact, as previously mentioned, that Milner’s experience could be valuable in a game like this.

actually keita has been the shielding midfielder while milner is the one given liscense to rage forward and create chaos.

its all about united, so i could see anything happening here… consistency and rhythm or a mad rotation… could as easily see divock starting as jota.

they need the win more than us so we should be using that to our advantage anyways
