Prematch Galatasaray V Liverpool FC | 10/03/2026 - 17:45 GMT (Away) | CL L16 1st Leg

The business end of the CL arrives with a visit to Hell, though Hell is about 12 hours flight to the east in Iran.

Early kick off and the lads have one of those pointless filmed training sessions.

Wirtz probably likely to be involved, hopefully no new injuries and probably no returns.

The match officials are all Spanish and called things like Jesus and Angel, which sounds positively heavenly. PGMOL refs are always something like Satan, Beelzebub or Michael Oliver.

Referee: JesĂșs Gil Manzano
Assistant Referee 1: Ángel Nevado
Assistant Referee 2: Gudalupe Porras Ayuso
Fourth Official: Juan MartĂnez Munuera

Which Liverpool will turn up? Wolves A or Wolves B? Hopefully we rise to the occasion as this is the biggest stage now and we have something important to play for.

Ideally we come back to Anfield with a win under our belts, but a draw away won’t be a bad result either. Looking forward to it.

0-1 to the plucky Reds.

Ayuso is an anus cream I think.

I’ve not missed one whilst watching for a while, probably miss most of this as I have to get up on Thursday at 2am for my flight and so will perhaps have to stay late on Tuesday to finish work off as I’ll be doing half day Wednesday.

Surely prove we’re better than Galatasaray this time about.

It was the start of that really bad run and even though it still aint great, we’re much better than the start of the season.

I seem to recall it being a pretty harsh penalty and then once they were in front, dipped into the dark arts for the rest of the game.

I think we had a couple of really big chances and probably should have got a point out of it at least it wasn’t our worst performance or even close to it to be fair.

Just looked at the stats and it suggests as much, also saw a penalty overturned.

I’m sure that Arne and his team will know the personnel, tactics and formation to see us through this game. COYR YNWA :+1:

I interacted with a few Galatasaray fans. They said they will welcome us ‘to hell’.

I said that is sound and we are looking forward to some hot weather after the rain

I think we’ve been decidedly short on pluck recently. Time to release the pluck !

Live training

Looks like Nyoni won’t be involved (at least that’s what Gorst is saying) due to 45 minutes for the U21’s yesterday, Chiesa was absent from training (at least the open part) and Afolami Onanuga (midfielder) trained with the first team.

Not worried about these at all Osimhem aside. They were quite fortunate to play 10 men Juve twice, otherwise they would’ve been soundly beaten.

Played them already there, they weren’t much good at all. Not expecting to see us at our best, but a solid enough performance to bring back a 1 or 2 goal lead.
