You are spring chicken. I keep trying to figure out how to retire at 60 instead of 67.
Hello from North Carolina! So did we win orâŚoh âŚ
I am retired, if that makes you feel any better.
Donât askâŚdisasterâŚ
Lucky! I have quite a few years to go.
I hate to be a hindsight expert but I did mention before since last month how a Diaz-Nunez-Salah just doesnât work because the dynamics are all wrong especially Salah seems to be losing his physical ability and is transforming to a wide playmaker. Someone did say that this trio together scored the most goals in Europe but it didnât seem like it to me.
Nunez and Diaz decision making, movement and composure are horrendous aka they donât have that top footballing brain to be a world-class player. They like to rely on taking players on and use their physical ability. However, if you do not have a top footballing brain, one can get marked out easily like how Adama Traore is so easily handled by most PL sides now.
If either one of Nunez or Diaz doesnât play, the balance immediately gets better as Gakpo and Jota relies more on clever movement rather than physical ability. It is such a regret that Gakpo is only finding his aggressiveness now and Jota is finally fit to play football.
Not insipid, but profligate in front of goal. Across the two games we should have won by an aggregate score of close to double figures. These games represent the two defining narratives of our season
-
having to create way too many chances for the number of goals weâve scored. This is a collective failing that weâve accommodated for most of the season but cost us 4 points against United and 3 today
-
diabolically bad refereeing in the big games against our head to head challengers. Not just us not getting the rub, but inexplicably shit refereeing likely robbing us of 4 extra points and affording both city and arsenal an extra 1 eachâŚand thatâs without even considering the spurs game
Nunezâs link up play is far better than is commonly credited and than is described here. But it was terrible today. Everything bounced off him today which looked as much a case of bad decisions and forcing the ball than bad touches. That contributed to a lot of our stuttering play in the first half especially
Good work Nostradamus.
Letâs also not get in the way of the fact in a game where Jones missed 2 big chances, Endo missed 1, Salah missed 1, Jota missed 1 and Nunez missed 1 you point all of your 8 fingers at Nunez.
If youâre gonna have an agenda, at least make an effort to hide it.
I really thought that we would win today.
Couldnât see that result ever happening.
Gutted beyond words
Thatâs where Composure comes inâŚBoth the team and the manager lost their collective composure.
Its really hard enough without these pearls.
I blame Gomez. His increasingly desperate attempts to score have taken more prominence in our games in recent weeks and now has spread through the side
I said it not so long ago, but Iâll say it again. Iâm really curious on what the data actually says on our squad, on some of our players, and how Edwards/Hughes interprets that information with the new manager. That doesnât just mean transfers, although some of our recruitment post Edwards/Ward has been a little strange, but also the fitness of our players, the intensity theyâve been put through every season.
Iâm still excited and curious to see what theyâll decide, once the new manager has been appointed.
You really a tool arenât you please post a specific quote where its all blamed on Nunez you cant. If you take your head out of your arse i said he had the best chance not that hes solely to blame.
It is really time to select players based on meritocracy. Today, Jones, Diaz, Nunez and Salah has let the team down massively.
It is time to let the others take their place in the starting lineup.
Semi retire like me
Did you call out any other big missed chance in the game, yes or no?
So it was just Nunez then? Yes or no?
Thereâs your answer.
I donât even have a problem you with criticising him every chance you get but to put up a such a resistance to deny your agenda is mind boggling.
The squad has probably been overperforming since weeks if not months, and now, the energy levels are on empty.
Itâs a pity, but the number of injuries Klopp and co. have had to contend with since the beginning of the season have finally taken their toll on us. The injury to Bradley illustrates this perfectly. It was coming and has finally happened. You donât overplay a youngster week in week out without having to pay the consequences eventually. Trent simply couldnât return soon enough. He was expected back since weeks, but his injury must be one of the really nasty sort.
Bradleyâs ligament possibly damaged according to Klopp, which means heâs probably out for the season, leaving us even more stretched for the remainder of the season.
