Maria, you can have as much technology as you like, if you have fucking cheats refereeing matches and running the whole shitshow then it’s all a complete waste of time and probably the main reason Jurgen is spewing it.
That’s nice of you.
But turns out you’re not needed.
He also came from Benfica, but I guess that’s not really important right now.
Disappointing today. We missed a lot of chances and with better finishing could easily have won. That is a bit of a theme at the moment.
Surprise Arsenal loss, which is all the more galling, as we could have been back in control.
It very much looks like Man City will put their foot down now, from pole position. Cheating bastards.
Just like that and Man City takes the initiative. I have said some weeks back that Man City has the tenacity to finish better than any team in the PL. They are cheaters but as far as hitting the final stretch with a perfect run, they have done it many times while competitors fall away just like Arsenal did last season. While no one will know Man City will falter or not but Liverpool can only prove they have the mettle by winning the remaining matches to at least not let Klopp leave with a whimper.
They won’t. The refs will bail them out if they’re struggling.
There will be a time when Guardiola will leave, we will see how long Man City can kerp winning the league almost every year.
City’s success is not down to Guardiola.
It’s down to the financial influence the Abu Dhabi government has over that of the United Kingdom.
In short, it’s sportswashing.
Crystal ball?
(Or 350 years of experience watching football-or its ancestor sport for that matter)
Ball? It was a pig’s bladder when I was a lad.
We have conceded one less than City and 5 more than Arsenal the way people go on you would believe we are Bodgers Liverpool who shipped 56 goals.
The Cheaters have a draw in them somewhere down the line… Remember, they still got one eye on the CL at the moment - We just need to click in the next 6 PL games…Oh, and score first in all of them…!
If we had Mignolet and Bogdan instead of Ali and Kelleher, we probably would be close to that 56 figure.
Plus it’s very different when you concede the first goal…21 times this season isn’t acceptable. When you’re 3 or 4 up, you take your foot off the gas then become prone to conceding a consolation like City did against Luton or Palace.
I think the team heard the concerns of the next manager having too much pressure to be the next guy. So they are told to under achieve so that the next guy feels better
A lot of that has been down to exceptional goalkeeping, not defensive shape, our defenders are probably the best in the league 1 v 1 but the communication, positioning and not being aware of opposition players has been there for a lot of the season, this also includes the midfield defensively.
The best we have been defensively is when we have gone down to 9 or 10 men, even Jurgen mentioned our compactness in his postmatch
Correct, it’s real life, and it’s not good enough
It’s about the same as Frank Lampard, argued by many as the greatest goal scoring midfielder of his generation, had scored by this stage in his career - 10 in 84 across his first 4 seasons
Nine of which were deflected.
Just too many passengers. In a way our season is turning out to be a carbon copy of 22/23 Arsenal. It is a shame because the capitulation we are seeing right now is going to overshadow a lot of the good things that happened this season.
Posting probably after a year or so. I have left my job and become a full time care giver for my wee old man whose has been diagnosed with Parkinson’s.
Some general observations over this season :
-
We seem to crumble in high pressure and crunch games. We need to be aware that most of these guys have never been into a title race or been in a situation where they have to win every game. No slip ups allowed bcoz of the opposition involved. This is not the 2019 team. Games against Arsenal, united , city n even Palace …we struggled to get it over the line under pressure. These boys need time and experience to feel and grow under this pressure. We lack big game players bar a few…There were few games where we were literally bullied.

Lot of people have been giving a stick to Salah. People need to be considerate here. Firstly, he has been back after a lengthy lay off. He hasn’t been out for this long, I guess, which obviously adds up to the rustiness.
And the thing that has bothered me since last season, is his positioning by the coaching staff. He has been sacrificed to accommodate the loss of Mane and Bobby. He is being constantly told to hug the byline. He is best finisher we have at the club and he shouldn’t be told to stay at the wings…It seems he has been told to become a creator instead of being the main man.
You can see the similar patterns last season, where he was always on the byline, where as he should be there in the box to score. It was quite annoying watching Jones and Szobo getting chances yesterday which should have fell to Salah , had he been integrated within the box, where he can be deadly.I could have pulled my hair off watching him hug the byline even at 78 min, only when Harvey came in…he got little central. Lots of people want to sell him in the summer, but be careful what you choose. We don’t buy world class players or have the money to buy them, it will be a potential signing if there is one and then what…if that player doesn’t hit 20-25 goals and the rest of the front 3 produces the same output, we won’t even make top 4, the competition is that tough. There is already going to be huge pressure on anyone replacing Klopp. Very easy to get rid of world class players, but hard to get them. We only have Van djik, Trent and Allison which can be labeled as world class like top 10-20 players in the world. -
The coaching staff are equally guilty as the players when it comes to the integration and telepathy in the front 3. There has been a constant chopping and changing of people and positions in the Frontline. The other issue is that Salah’s wavelength with Bobby and Mane was very different compared to the south American lads. It will take them years to build that sort of wavelength, but unfortunately, what we have done is that we replaced Mane and Bobby with players who are not prolific scorers(which is why Salah is the provider now). Our game has always been about scoring wingers/forwards under Klopp. Unfortunately, neither Diaz nor Darwin have that kind of finishing in front of goal that is required to win this league. Full marks for the effort they put in… but We need to realize that we are fighting against a team like City, where there is hardly any margin of error. Finishing your chances will be the difference between beating City for the league or not. I am afraid, I see the potential in Darwin but he needs a big turn around to be world top 5 or 10 strikers to be remembered. He needs to be able to do it against big teams …under big pressure , atleast you would expect that for 85 million. Torres when he came…was also potential…but look what he did in his first two seasons…every big game against every big team…he performed and scored. For me, personally Gakpo is probably a better finisher …I am probably going overboard now, but Origi was pretty good in terms of burying chances till he was here than Darwin currently is.
Anyhow,Last year and during Covid(losing many loved ones) has taught me to see any bit of positive that you can to keep going in life, otherwise the easiest thing in life is to always give up.
Hence, all we need is a turn around in the Atlanta game and our season is back on. Footballing Gods are not completely against us…Arsenal loss is the proof.
For me, boss needs to change the system a bit, switch to diamond, or may be overload the midfield to get more control, and please start Mo in the middle as your main striker , for this final games run in.
Lets win at Atlanta and the momentum and confidence will swing straight away and If any team can do this it’s this.
Come on Redmen…I believe !!
Sorry to hear that.
