That means dropping two.

I’m admittedly concerned too. The most important thing, possibly even more important than the result, is to come through unscathed. We have had our injury problems lately, and the last thing we need are fresh injuries adding up to that. We’ll need a maximum of bodies for the run-in, in order to hopefully get over the line.

Fingers crossed for no new injuries, and hopefully (potential cherry on the cake) a convincing performance and result from the lads!

4pts over the next two games is fine. It would keep the lead at double digits at least. Arsenal play the same two só a match of points is also fine.

If we beat Everton at Anfield (which we usually do, totally different to our record at Goodison), and Arsenal lose points (even 2 if they draw), it’s all but sealed, we would need to collapse to an even more unfathomable level and at the same time Arsenal to be at City levels of recent years (they already need that).

Even if both us and Arsenal win, it’s great, because it’s a derby done and dusted, and less games to play and less wins required to go the distance.

If we lose points and Arsenal win, still not too bad, but Fulham away is not easy, and losing points in both games would create a different setting to the run in (not necessarily one that it’s not in our control, but one that is not reversible beyond imagining).

So to avoid that, I hope we turn up like we do most of the time, and not make an exception like we did last season.

Isn’t the Arsenal match versus Fulham a home match for them?

It is

Yes, for them. I was referring to our game after Everton home, which is Fulham away (hence the “losing points in both games”). Reading it back, it doesn’t sound as clear as it was in my mind.

I forgot that this was Wednesday rather than Tuesday. You wait months for a break and then they all come at once…

Worth pointing out to those watching overseas that this weekend is the biannual “some shit with clocks” weekend so the kickoff is 20:00 BST (GMT+1).

It doesn’t affect most of us in mainland Europe as the clocks change at the same time, but I appreciate that some forum members live in places with different summertime dates or, unbelievably, live in civilised places that don’t bugger around the time.

You testing for approval rating of your new avatar BKLpT.? :0)

I don’t know anything about your acronyms, but, obviously, as TAN’s most beloved poster, I have no need to curry favour.

Let’s make it more interesting.

You change your username to BeSlotted when we best Everton.

Or you change to Darthwank next time Cynnie writes ‘bloody foreigners’.

Don’t mind changing to the username but atleast keep the contest somewhat even.

No fun with AN_L, no fun without him (her/them/etc).

Yep. He could take a joke well.
