Hopefully no new knocks and let’s see if there are any positive news with Morton, Chiesa and Jota. If some of them can be on the bench.
If we don’t have to change in defence or midfield, keep it as it is.
Gakpo in for Nunez, Diaz up top.
I thought Arsenal had a clear run of easy games?
Not particularly thrilled with Diaz as No. 9, but Nunez on current form is borderline unplayable.
Jota can’t return soon enough.
And not in the good sense, sadly.
It’s not ideal, but he showed some good stuff there against Leverkusen and City in particular.
We probably just wanted someone who can still offer a threat in behind, be aggressive off the ball, but also combine technically.
Didn’t Gakpo play that role at times.
More under Klopp, not really under Slot (except for the final few minutes when circumstances forced us to). Also a different shape now.
Hopefully Jota is ready for minutes on Saturday.
Before tonight’s game I thought Fulham would be a good win for us but after tonight’s game I think we have a tough game on our hands and no Mac in midfield.
I’m sure that Arne and his team will know the personnel, formation and tactics to see us through this game. COYR YNWA
Best Keeper in the world
Best attacking RB of his generation, Best Liverpool player to never have scored, Best CB of all time, Best LB in Prem era
Best DM this season
Best hairdo since Can, Best Scouser…since the last best scouser
Best everything (except abs), Nunez, Best Colombian in our history.
I think we’ve had him a couple of times before. Was basically OK, I think.
Tony Harrington - yeah nothing of note regards his prowess as one of the elite - Although I remember getting a Harrington jacket back in the day when they were scarce
I think Quansah starts this instead of Gomez.
Diaz at CF and Gakpo on the left.
Hopefully we have Jota, Tsimikas, Konate, Bradley, Chiesa all back soon.
I mean, if Arsenal are moaning about missing Odegaard for a few matches and every pundit shakes their heads about poor City without Rodri…surely we can have perspective about where we are at?
We played top teams without some of our best players and are where we are.
On Nunez.
He was awful last night, and much as we (most of us) want him to be a success at Liverpool, he is running out of time. The way teams double up on Salah should leave spaces for him but he just isn’t able to exploit that.
Loads of talk about a new CB, CM, LB…with Jota needing cover a new CF might be required as well. Sadly.
Anyway.
Come on the Reds.
If we moan about anything at the moment we should reflect on before the season.
None of us thought we would be at this level in the tables in December.
These are great days.
I actually think he is getting worse. He’s certainly fast enough, but he finds himself in buckets of space and ends up in a complete flap. I’d like for him to be dropped to the bench just so he has chance to get his head together.
The only change I would make is Gakpo for Nunez, and play Luis down the middle.
I don’t think that Slot has that many moves he can make. Nunez is better coming on against tired legs.
