Thank.Fuck.For.That.
Come On Reds !
We should turn the heating off in Utd’s dressing room :0)
That might actually make them make an effort in order to stay warm. Should make it nice and cosy so they’ll be dreaming of staying in there instead…
That is not snow, but a tiny bit of sludge and and it’s clearly positive degrees celsius and not minus. There should be no world where this kind of mild weather is a problem to anyone not teleported out naked during a heatwave in the middle of the Australian desert.
The stories of stuff like that over the years are legend. We won a test in Aus in the 80s (rare) and the fridge that held our beer was broke so all the beer was Aus outdoor temp. Canny bastards!
Manchester United
-
In December, Manchester United lost six matches in a month for only the third time in their history after April 1926 (six) and September 1930 (seven).
-
The 18 goals they conceded was their most in a single month since March 1964.
-
The Red Devils are looking to avoid losing four league games in a row in the same season since 1979. They last suffered four defeats in a row without scoring back in 1909.
-
Since Ruben Amorim’s first game in charge on 24 November, only Southampton (seven) have lost more matches in all competitions than Manchester United’s six, while the Red Devils have conceded a joint division-high of 21 goals along with Tottenham.
-
They have collected just seven league points from a possible 24 (W2, D1, L5) under Amorim.
-
Only Chelsea (31) have made more changes to their starting XIs in the Premier League than Manchester United’s 28 since Amorim’s arrival.
-
Four teams have gone on to be relegated from the Premier League having been in United’s current position of 14th at the turn of the year.
What even is this nonsense !?
I will never be able to understand why and how Britain breaks down at the first sight of a mild snowfall. How can one allow society to be conquered by a tiny bit of weather ???
It is so beyond absurd. You people don’t need Saxons, Jutes, Angles, Friesian or even Normans with their cavalry. A bit of snow ends you all and you speak seriously about canceling life.
I have a photo (think I posted it during COVID) of a letter sent from The War Ministry in the early ‘40s saying “In the event of a Nazi invasion, schools will remain open until further notice”
Now they close for a bit of snow. It’s utterly ridiculous.
After reading this, I can only say that I hope we will help extend Amorim’s record-breaking start.
We can’t help it, we were brought up like this😂.
It is absurd indeed that schools are closed due to snow. From my childhood, I can vividly remember that some of the best school days where days where we played in the snow outside during breaks.
Clearly, this is an issue in England:
Which is self defeating. Make winter tires mandatory during the months of december-february and this nonsense will not be an issue anymore. Because this is just a traffic problem really.
We could indeed go into a whole debate about this, exploring the roots of why the country responds so terribly to bad weather, but I suspect it would just get derailed by the usual trolling and point-scoring instead of satisfying yours and my general curiosity.
Is “Diaz Sr.” a euphemism for Guardiola?
Best idea for a new thread !
But yes, you are right. And I am probably a bit of a sneering dick myself here.
I just find it too ridiculous and self defeating to be hindered by what is mild weather and not even a storm.
But point taken, will stop babbling about this (but really not my fault that it becomes and issue and several posters naturally posts about it in the thread, because they were actually talking about cancelation and there wasn’t even 30 cm snow but a wee bit of sludge, which I find infuriatingly silly and pathetic !!!)
End of rant and all of that.
All of that means fuck all at kick off. If we are thinking about how crap they are, and how easy it’s going to be, that’s the only way we’ll mess this up.
Talk of postponing the game was ridiculous.
However the reason why we all go mental in the snow is because we don’t get very much of it, so we don’t have the infrastructure to handle what we do get.
