They also need a keeper. And need one really badly. Pope is a shit keeper. We’ve got the second best keeper in the league. There can be a case of Kelleher being used as a make weight.

I think Slot would have figured out how to handle Newcastle from our previous meeting. Their danger men Isak and Gordon need to be nullified.
Looking forward to another strategy masterclass from Slot for another 3 points.

I’ve always thought Pope was pretty decent. And he invariably has a good game against us , as admittedly most of them seem to.

Average shot stopper (but most of them are better than him). His ability with the ball at his feet is horrendous. Okay distribution with his hands but that’s like the bare minimum.

My issue with it this time round is it’s not Liverpool fans that have been talking up our chances this season but everyone else.

In 2019/20, it came off of decades of a section of our fanbase saying “this is our year”…

Exactly :joy:

Slot news conference highlights from the BBC:

  • Slot confirmed Conor Bradley “is out for a few weeks” and is unable to give a time frame for his return.

  • Alexis Mac Allister is expected “to be OK” but will be assessed after today’s training session.

  • He said he “doesn’t even need to enforce the message” of not losing focus to his side because “they know how tough the competition is.”

  • On the possibility of rotation to keep his squad fresh after this busy fixture period: “I’m not so sure. It is difficult because these players are trained for this and they are ready for this. They are in a certain rhythm and they have shown this season many times that they are able to do it.”

  • Following Jamie Carragher’s comments about Mohamed Salah being less likely to win the Ballon d’Or because he is an Egypt international, Slot said: “It’s mostly about the tekkers, isn’t it? It’s a good thing that Mo is in the discussion because it means he is doing well and we are doing well. But for him to stay in that discussion he should bring in the same performances as he’s done for seven or eight months now.”

  • More from Slot on Salah: “Mo has had some outstanding seasons here at Liverpool and we hope he can continue this for a longer period of time but first he needs to extend his contract. You guys don’t ask me about that any more, so that’s a positive!”

  • On his contract negotiations becoming harder because of the form he is in: “You can look at that in both ways because the better he does the more expensive he may become. But if he was doing bad, we would be having second thoughts about extending his contract. I think for everyone it is the best that he brings the performances he is now.”

  • He said saying Newcastle’s Alexander Isak is in fine form “is an understatement because he is actually in excellent form,” and added: “We have two very good centre-backs though, which is what you need when you face the quality of Isak.”

  • More on opponents Newcastle: “They score a lot of goals and they have so many offensive threats. Normally they are not a team that concedes many because they show very aggressive defending.”

They’re reportedly close to bringing in James Trafford from Burnley.

Just to clarify Maca was bruising to the face

I think this could be a difficult match however no way will we bé taken to the cleaners even if Trent, Robbo and Curtis play!
I was reassured by our performance against Shitty but others seem to think differently. Annoying me being the odd one out all the time.

It’s all good.

What should most Liverpool fans (or the average Liverpool fan, especially young ones) feel or shout other than we’re the best or we’re winning this.

We’ve been the league leaders for most of the season so it’s also expected that most opposition fans think we will do it. Unless it’s a Leicester type of situation where it was such a surprise.

For me at least, there is no jinx. It’s just that I prefer some songs over other ones.

I’m not the type that thinks we should be careful while singing about winning the league before we do.

The main thing is that there’s an atmosphere from the stands, the rest (and the largest part) is up to the team on the pitch.

I think I remember that.

Surprise, surprise…

Only disappointment there is Joelinton is a dirty cunt.

Anyway hope he rushes them back and they go down within 20 minutes and they will deserve it for being dumb.

I was pleasantly surprised Haaland didn’t rise like Lazarus to face us. That’s what they usually do.

I’ll be gutted if Joelinton starts. His ability to somehow escape cards for blatant assaults is not good for my blood pressure.

Slot won’t change much for this I feel. After tomorrow night, we have a weekend break, before we face PSG (A) in the CL next week.

It’ll be something like this;

Alisson

Trent Ibou Virgil Robbo

G’berch Szobo Jones

Salah Jota Gakpo

Trent and Robbo off around 60-70, other subs will be down to the game state.

Wel well well…pants on fire…again

Tonali will start but can’t see Beheadie rushing back the other 2, especially Joelinton who they said was aiming to be fit for the final.
