Anyway, this speaks to what I said elsewhere about how “boring” I find us this season.
We turn up, score two goals, win the game. Rinse, repeat. No real jeopardy in most cases. If we don’t do well in the first half, somehow we end up getting the goals in the second. It just feels inevitable.
Mohamed Salah breaking goal contribution records (for the whole season) after just 28 games wouldn’t be remarkable, it would genuinely just be yet another Saturday for this ridiculous player and this ridiculous team.
EDIT: And at 20 wins out of 28 league games (71.4% win rate), or 33 wins out of 44 games overall (75% if I have to do the maths for you lazy sods), we’re certainly more reliable than British trains (source: Office of Rail and Road):

No real surprise there. Great to see McConnell on the bench!

It would be nice if Mo, Dom and Ryan could be taken off at the hour mark. They were all looking knackered on Wednesday.

Fine with this, it’s an important game unlike most seem to think on here.

It makes sense start the strongest team then make changes is better than having to throw players in chasing a result.

Yeah, my thoughts to be honest.

Yes, but it’ll soon be tomorrow and tomorrow never knows.

That would be ‘dies’ not ‘knows’. I was thinking more of the Beatles tune.

Shouldn’t that be Yesterday and Tomorrow Never Knows?
I dunno. I think I will lay down all thoughts and surrender to the void.
