Back to the grindstone and a visit from Spurs for our 30th League match of the season. Spurs are currently like the footballing equivalent of the Keystone Cops and it is anyone’s guess as to what we will turn out like. I suspect that this will provide a certain amount of amusement to neutral fans and a good deal of Schadenfreude to our rivals.
Anyway, the officials are announced as follows:
Referee: Chris Kavanagh. Assistants: Dan Cook, James Mainwaring. Fourth official: Tom Kirk. VAR: John Brooks. Assistant VAR: Dan Robathan.
Tudor’s disastrous run surprises me a bit. When he worked here in Italy his teams weren’t great but they always put up a fight and looked solid defensively speaking. With Spurs he’s been worse than probably anything we’ve seen from them lot in 15/20 years.
I personally wouldn’t be surprised if they nick a point come Sunday, being a contest between two really fragile teams. That’s if they don’t sack him earlier (today?)
They could change 3 different coaches until the end of the season and still get nowhere. A lot of damage has already been done, although still a realistic chance of staying up.
Martinez spoke really well recently on the Overlap wondering what’s the mentality like right now at Spurs, not used to being in such a fight and real danger of going down.
The most important match of the season!
We are approaching the business end of the season. Arsenal are long gone however we can, results pending, catch Shitty. So we need some good performances from now on.
There really is no reason we shouldn’t win this one however matches need some coaching and waiting till half time makes it all a toss of a coin.
