Our high line is vulnerable today without Virgil to marshall or Fab to mop up. Need to improve 2nd half. Also Jota needs to contribute more up front.

Something not quite right with Matip. He’s been unable to get into a sprint. On a couple of occasions, he was positioned in such a way that he would be favourite to get the ball, but he instead kinda jogged in position to cover rather than sprint to the ball.

We look dangerous every time we go forward but my god we’re loose at the back. Desperately missing Virg to just calm everyone the fuck down.
We’re now playing with something to lose so just need to do what we do and squeeze them, not look out for a knock out punch every time.
Just keep our heads, play our way and the next goal or two will come but we need to settle at the back, at least until we absolutely need to throw the kitchen sink at it.

Was anyone else scratching their head trying to work out why the Wolves goal wasn’t offside? If they aren’t going to show the full pitch they could at least point out it was straight from the goal kick.
Anyway, we seem to be creating enough chances up front but not getting the shots in. I’d like to see a Diaz, Mané Salah front three but I’m not sure whether we can do that if Thiago is off.
Hopefully Klopp is giving them an ear bashing at the moment.
Who’s going to do the Thiago job? He was our best player so far

Both CB’s have been nervous holding that line. Both FB’s have probably the lowest pass success % I’ve ever seen from either of them.
Right now the occasion is getting to all 4 defensive players and they need to relax. We don’t need to put the ball in the back of the net in 5 mins. We need to wear them down and take our time with clean possession.
To say we need Virg on is an understatement though to be fair.
