Drop the 2 full-backs. Tsimikas is more than an able back-up to Robbo. Despite his showing tonight I’d play Gomez at RB, dropping him completely will fuck with his head and tbh he couldn’t be any worse than Trent if he had his legs tied together.
Midfield is difficult because right now we don’t have one. Thiago. Melo and Fabinho seems the obvious choice but they’ll all struggle to put in 90 minutes on Saturday. Start with them and bring on Milner and Elliott later on while hoping for the fucking best.
Diaz picks himself. Draw straws for the other 2. Problem is there is no chemistry between whatever 3 we pick. It was a joy watching prime Mo, Mane and Bobby in their pomp all knowing exactly what run to make and when to make it, now we’re watching a group of strangers falling over each other and running down blind alleys.
I hate Wolves and their cunting fans. Just fucking win.
Oh it’s my option I wish we would go with it, I think Klopp might try it, he did against Everton and nothing to tonight will particularly suggest that doing that again is better.
As for Milner I listed him as an option as that’s all we have. No way he starts and if he wants to rest Trent I’d give Gomez a go. He wasn’t great tonight but with Matip alongside him he would be ok. He should get minutes every week if needed not be playing a part in two games in a row.
Oh and let’s be starting Matip.
I am not sure if double sided tape is gonna work when the driveshafts itself can’t move…
Diaz is the only outfield player playing with any sort of intensity. Him and Alisson are the only two who deserve to be considered nailed on starters at present.
IMO, our tactics onwards should be summed up as “close the rank”. We should throw more bodies into the midfield by playing 3-4-3 or 4-2-3-1 to make up our quality issue.
It is going to go bonkers here if Milner starts again. It is also telling at the present moment, Wolves midfield looks way better than our midfield at Naples. How did it get to this stage? I don’t know.
I thought we had a Supporters Board in the club now? Surely, it is time for Joe Blott to voice out now to FSG about how the players looked so unprepared, the rise of the insane amount of injuries that we have and also the lack of investment in CM.
smash us. we are shit
We’re in bad shape 29-0!
and possibly bring Arthur on to share the minutes?
Don’t care who plays and in what formation as long as we are never this open again.
He was a lot worse that Trent last night. Maybe his legs were tied together
Yes, because it would have gone unnoticed before.
Your opinion.
I hope to be proved wrong come Jan 31st 2023 but it seems that nothing is gonna change until we put our foot down and revamp the midfield.
Herein lies the midfield issue. We are so reliant on one player for creativity it’s absurd. As Klopp said, ‘It is time to reinvent’ and they better reinvent asap.
Alisson
TAA Matip VVD Robertson
Arthur Fabinho Thiago
Salah Jota Diaz
I’m not even bothered about the players in those positions to be honest. I just want to see the wide forwards start closer to goal, the striker play like a striker, the CMs cover the wing backs and the wing backs be a bit smarter about when to go forward (Trent doesn’t need to end up at CF every time we get past the half way line, for example). Shouldn’t be that hard to revert back to given that we have played that way for the last three years!
Back at Anfield, 15:00 kick off, another reaction like we saw against Bournmouth? Despite their position Wolves are decent, but fairly blunt in attack.
Changes at full back, I would drop Virg and Fab but would be too big an ask for others to step in. Gomes at RB should provide some balance, whilst we remember how to play football.
---------------Alison--------------
Gomez–Matip–Virg–Kostas
-----Elliot—Fab—Thiago-----
----Salah–Bobby–Diaz------
We are playing on Saturday afternoon after playing on Wednesday night? What can possibly go wrong?
I think we’re being fed to the wolves… hat please!
I don’t know if we have the legs for that.
