I was just wondering what they are doing at the match in memory of Kevin Keegan. I’m watching on Sky Deutschland, and they do have a nasty habit of putting gambling adverts on over prematch events, although Keegan was a huge star in Germany as well. I’m assuming that it will be more than just a minutes applause given that he was such an important figure for both clubs.

James McConnell, the season hasn’t even started yet and we’re already scraping the bottom of the barrel. McConnell couldn’t even keep up in the Dutch ‘Mickey Mouse’ league at Ajax, and he might have to play today. Dear me.

I liked McConnell. There are multiple reasons for why he could not make it at Ajax.

Still, he might play today. They did not bring him for nothing. Again, We’re only just at the start of the season – how will those five midfielders be doing in December, in terms of injuries and suspensions? Just look at Arsenal and who they have at back-up; with such a small squad in quality and numbers, we won’t be in the running for the title unless a miracle happens.
Yeah I can see him winning at getting that one winning goal against Newcastle.
I do think the likes of him and Bobby Clark were let go too early into loan / transfer moves.
They would have been better served playing with the Liverpool first team. McConnell can do a job as a CDM

Seems like they’ve increased the number of subs, there was nine registered in the PL games yesterday.
Iraola was said to have told him there will be first team opportunities this season, hence why the Preston loan got cancelled, but that doesn’t mean he’ll be first off the bench. There’s probably four players ahead of him.
My point is that we are still thin in quality and numbers with a week to go in the window. I hope that they will prove me wrong and that we win the league.
Not to pick on you, but managers get pelters for not giving young lads a chance, and then we moan about letting a young lad be, what, seventh in line for one of the two midfield positions?
