We have been dominated by a Newcastle team far more ready for the game than us. Not that surprising really.
I doubt they will run all over us in the same manner in the second half. But its a difficult competative game and we need to play much better to win, but that’s life.
Its just 1-0, hardly over. We are kind of lucky that it’s only 1-0 and should look at that as an opportunity for the second half.
This isn’t exactly a crisis and some of you ought to remember that.

Im tired after Real Madrid and then City in the last week. Not surprised we’ve been off colour this half. We are lucky to only be one down.

Our midfield have been bad. May be Gapko should have drifted more into mid for sometime to help out and break their press. Trent will pass through that press. Salah to equalise and Diaz to win it.
The level we have reached has been so high that a lull like this was to be expected. On the Newcastle end they have been below where they expected so far this season, and with an expensively assembled team they want to give a good account of themselves with the league leaders coming to town.
It is a classic case of one team being below par and the other exceeding expectations.
THE question is whether or not both sides will continue to play the second half at this level. My bet is Slot will tweak it and we will get on the ball more and start to hurt them. Newcastle will also tire a little as they put a lot into that half.
We haven’t been good though, and need to improve.
The ref has been very uneven too - some dangerous stuff from them, as well as lots of garden variety fouls going unnoticed, while he couldn’t wait to blow up for a foul or get his card out for our boys.
It’s not gone. We can regroup and do this.

I’m hoping Slot can pull out some tactical tweaks in the second half.
There’s barely been a single successful pass between midfielder and forward, and we seem to be last to every second ball.
I don’t think a huge amount needs to change. Take advantage of the lull from half time, get some possession, and use whatever tweaks to get more possession in our half. Get the forwards into the game.
