PreMatch | Newcastle vs Liverpool | Sunday August 27th 16:30h

Probably not, I had a flat there for a year in the early 90s. It was kind of grim then but it did have a great folk and blues scene. I believe it now makes the East End of Glasgow look like cosmopolitan chic.

I could probably write a travel guide for these places. I could call it, “The rent was cheap for a reason.”

We actually looked worse against 10 men.

Yeah , that was depressing to watch. After the early goals and the red card.

Ant and Dec fallen out then?

Do we think they’d been drinking?

Well I suspect that’s more likely than spending time at the gym.

Seen more punches landed in a pacifists retreat.

This is one of the funniest things I’ve ever seen, fair play to the lad for acting like nothing happened after getting clubbed round the back of the head, Bruno would’ve gone down rolling about acting like he was having a seizure.

He could just settle my nerves and say ‘we have Phillips’.

The two things to watch (out) for are the Isaak/Trent battle and Diaz getting a kick early doors.

Basically, if we can shake the fear of loosing at the first sign of the plan not quite working, then I think we are capable of getting the points.

Isak is fast, and the ball over the top in Trent’s side seems an obvious danger. I think Trent might be a bit deeper than normal, but we will see. Hopefully Endo gives us good protection.

I’m seeing a fast Newcastle start, and them taking the lead. I hope not, but I think that’s what we happen, but we will grow into it and go in at the half in level terms. I think we will grow in authority second half and run out clear winners.

Tough fixture though, and Tonali adds more quality for them.

True, he is that.

IF (big word here) we win this, no matter how. it’s a seriously good result. Away to a huge partizan baying mob with oil money coming out of their ears. I’ll take a smash and grab 0-1 and get out of Dodge pronto.

I’d start with
Alisson
Trent Gomez Virgil Robbo
Endo
Dom Alexis
Salah Cody Diaz

Endo should ensure our midfield would not be sieve-like for them to penetrate and that should help Gomez and Trent to cope with their counters. At the same time let’s see how their defence copes with our front five. And we unleash Darwin in the 2nd half to wrap things up.

1-3 to us.

Just wondering if the people worrying about Newcastle hurting us down the right side of our defense in Konate’s absence realize it’s likely to be Anthony Gordon playing LW for them?

Not Harvey Barnes then?

COuld be but he hasnt started a game for them yet

Confirmed XI: Allison, Alexander-Arnold, Matip, Van Dijk, Robertson, Mac Allister, Endo Szoboszlai, Diaz, Gakpo, Salah
