Matip gets the nod. I’d like the back four to play more like the 2017-2021 version. Konate is all action, but Matip without a RB is going to hurt at times.

Hes not doing enough in training.
Hes a good weapon for off the bench.
He needs to do more to push himself into contention. He’ll get his chance for sure, but he cannot expect to just walk into the team with the way he is playing lately.
Gakpo is the 1st choice CF and Diaz has been playing well. Is Nunez not starting a surprise?

Thankfully we now have the players to get Gakpo out of the midfield and into the false 9 position which he is much more suited to.

He has to perform when he gets his chance, but he for sure looks like he is lacking in confidence when he does play

He’s still more disconnected from his team mates when he plays than our alternatives are. He works hard, runs a lot, and even looks dangerous when he’s running at the defense or getting in behind, but it’s more a case of him doing his own thing. He’ll continue to get his chances, but its that rather than goals alone that will dictate whether he starts playing a more important role.

Im sure it hurts to play against Joelinton but during every game he pretends to have a season ending injury like four times.
I wouldn’t expected him to start its clear that Klopp still isn’t convinced.
Hopefully Endo can boss the DM role today! Also, hope he’s aware he will be playing right back as well
