We typically only “hold” 3 players back when attacking (Fabinho, Van Dijk and Konate/Matip). I think we might see in this one we won’t ask Milner to do that Fabinho role and instead squeeze Gomez inside a bit so him, Konate and Matip are the holders with Matip stepping up a bit into the Fabinho space when necessary.
So for large stretches it could end up looking like this:
And that means you can disrespect him? He destroyed his knee while playing for us, he has never caused trouble and he’s had his moments over the years. At the very least he deserves not to be called a waste of space on a Liverpool forum.
The Ox is definitely leaving in the summer, I think. It wouldn’t surprise me if the club was deliberately protecting him from injury, to make sure we can get a fee for him.
I agree, the Ox ruptured four knee ligaments, in that game. He’s extremely fortunate to be back playing at all and was playing well when that happened.
I hate the abuse he gets on here.
Ox was looking a good midfielder, attacking, bursting through, shot threat.
Bad injury at wrong time.
The team improved further and moved on, he has been trying to rebuild and get a look in.
If and when he goes it is with our thanks. Didn’t quite work out, but a good lad who gave his all here, and might yet have more to do in a Liverpool shirt.
