Bottom line though, they got the 3points on the board yesterday.!
Cheatin B*****ds
Itās incredible how they get away with that. But thatās exactly why I stated previously that in my opinion, UEFA handled this kind of issues correctly after similar events occured during international matches, while the PL didnāt.
A club/national team canāt show up for a football match, for whatever reason? It has to lose by forfeit with three nil. Period.
Otherwise, it opens the door for that kind of calculated manipulation. I wouldnāt be surprised if they or other clubs try it again whenever a tight schedule comes up for them.
They have to make that match up somewhere in the already crowded schedule, it will then bite them in the ass.
Saw them play yesterday and to be honest they look a lot better then we do lately.
Two things
City should be deducted points for Everton match.
This summer the 2005 headlines will be repeated: āGerrard to Chelseaā.
Neither will happenā¦
It helps to have a bit of extra rest, particularly when your opponent hasnāt.
Two things here.
First, they just had a rest period of what, 8 days, so clearly they were going to look fresh and sharp compared to Chelsea.
Second, youāre far too easily upset and downhearted by stuff like an opposition performance - in a weeks time they may lose to some relegation fodder. Form out the window right now, and I wouldnāt worry too much as at some point City need to play their games in hand.
All very good points.
I do think they have it in them to win it thoughā¦
Like I keep saying, this one is gonna be a real arse-clencherā¦just how I like itā¦
Iām not upset or downhearted about an oppositionās performance, Iām about ours.
That could be the case later on when that opponent has the extra rest too.
Am I the only one that thinks the PL players and staff should be vaccinated asap there is so much contact in football that canāt be avoided? Yes, I know others need it too and that Iām being selfish and that it is not a PC point of view.
Anyone else?
Definitely not me.
There are far more important workers that need it first: frontline NHS staff and teachers, to name but two examples.
Iām with @cynicaloldgit on this. Thereās too many people out there where the vaccine cannot come quickly enough.
Football and footballers in particular just need to get smarter. Iād be in favour of some kind of deterrent that would stop the Kyle Walkers of the world being complete fuckwits like they have been. Sadly I think that ship has already sailed.
I note that public health bodies have been calling on the FA/PL to ban players who breach the protocols. That ought to be what happens and itās absolutely right that public health officials start trying to shame the football authorities into taking action.
What have they been doing so far then? The UK started a month ago and I know from a friend who is from the Island of White that his whole family over threre has been vaccinated and so is the rest of the Island.
BTW, not a teacher or a NHS staff worker to be found in his family.
Why are you asking me?

They should at least be forced into a period of mandatory isolation.
It reminds me of the Tom Cruise rant. He got the piss taken out of him, but he was absolutely right. Like the film and TV industry, football is dependent on its working behaving correctly and following the protocols. If people canāt do that they should be removed and not allowed to threaten the whole industry.
City should be deducted points to set a precedent but I doubt that would really happen.
I do take comfort in the fact that city will be back to full strength to give the Bitters a proper ass whopping
Call me cynical but I see United winning their next game (with generous helps from the usual suspects) and the season suspended/curtailed.
