Might be curtailed before then. wouldnât they win it on points per game anyhow?
As I said if the FA had some balls they would call out all these players and charge them with disrepute but theyâve done nothing. I wouldnât even be bothered if they did it with Salah however it would be up to his own FA I assume.
As someone who has taken up learning Portuguese, I just find it a bit meh, If someone uses it in a derogatory way then yes of course, but I canât see any offense in that, I suppose some may find it offensive and maybe they needed to act but I think a fine or a warning may of sufficed at most.
The FA probably had to act but yeah it just isnât offensive in most of the world and he was being loving in it.
Where these breaches in Covid are a slap in the face of those teams, players and staff who are actively trying to live in the rules such as Wolves, take staff who work the stadium, who spend hours getting it right and they welcome fuckers who canât spend Christmas and new year in their own bubbles (in rather large houses and apartments). The fact they can actually get out and about unlike most of us makes it even worse.
They are in my view bringing the game into disrepute, and dealing it internally evidently hasnât worked at some clubs, there is at least several points over the xmas period that shouldnât have been achieved because they players should not have played.
40 positive tests in the PL in the past week, double the previous high:
You have to wonder whether itâs a question of when and not if the season gets postponed⌠potentially even cancelled if they donât want it to clash with the summer tournament/s.
Hope this doesnât sound facetiousâŚbut we could do with a lockdown for four to six weeksâŚand name the clubs with Covid, perhaps medical people could work out why there are now so many PL clubs with it.
Are we preparing a âvictim-taleâ already ? I donât understand these conspiracy theories, it is the only part of fandom I will never understand.
If Manchester United some how win, which I doubt, they will have deserved it. If we win, we will have deserved it. If Manchester City win, over a season, they will have deserved it.
I doubt the season will come to an end, but if it does, it will be because of too high infection rates and not because Manchester United are in the lead.
I see so many fans, usually solid people with good brains, resorting to these theories and sitting where I do, it looks like way, way too many people are running with those ideas not questioning if it may not be a bit too conspiratorial and idiotic. I donât get it. It likely wouldnât be possible to hide such a conspiracy, it would involve a lot of people including all referees, and some how it has not leaked. It is mindboggling that otherwise intelligent people are discussing it as it is is not fantastically controversial.
Every team that gets players injured is a victim in that situation, and while I agree that Manchester United got a dodgy penalty against Wolves (last season I can vividly remember us getting a few hands penalties I thought werenât really penalties), to create a conspiracy tale of how the FA favours them and pressures officials into fixing matches is bonkers. And I have read this tale on this forum a lot. Written by people with good brains as well.
I will never understand this.
I see it now, donât worry. Seriously though, it is hard to filter who is serious and who is not. The idea that there is a conspiracy against Liverpool is wide spread and very often written on this forum. And by people I respect as well. It is tremendously difficult then to filter who is making an actual joke (I would not make such a joke myself, I would not want anyone to think I believed in those theories) and who is promoting it, since many who promote it are otherwise clever people.
Suspend the league whilst the country is in lockdown, get the total number of cases down. Restart the season in a month or so when the risk is lower.
If that means cancelling international football, so be it. Flying around the world increases the risk so domestic football should be the priority. And international football is shit.
On a selfish level the league being suspended would be good for Liverpool too, we need it more than most.
International football in the current circumstances is an absolute travesty. The fact that FIFA/UEFA/et.al are trying to drive ahead with it should precipitate a structural change in the regulation of the sport. Ice hockey makes far more sense.
I said at the beginning it should have been to try and get this season finished by say mid March and then go into a long international period where qualifications and so on was sorted, they could have even completed the qualifications in the break between seasons, there was that international period after the community shield.
It is also not helped by these idiotic players who hold parties for all sorts.
