Premier League 2020/21 (Part 1)

West Ham have Arsenal, Wolves, Leicester, Spurs, Man City and us up next. Might be a decent chance he’s not there after those games.

Newcastle look a pretty solid bunch now, plus now they have more depth, too. Certain individuals have started to produce more.

You still have a lot of the good stuff Rafa did there, some credit also needs to be given to Bruce for the way he kept them out of danger last season when a lot of people thought they were doomed.

So on one hand hand, they look good for the short-term. On the other hand, the whole situation remains the same under Ashley and maybe their ceiling under him just can’t be higher than this.

One things for sure - Fulham will go down. Don’t think there are worse teams then them. Player and manager are just not good enough.

Compared to them Norwich looked like a Top4 team at the start of last season.

Shows how much media wants us to do bad.

To be honest the best thing bar the 3 points and Salah getting back to form is how much that actually hurt some fans of other clubs today.

I remember when Man Utd wouldn’t stop winning in the run in that year or when Man City kept winning 2 years back.

That hurt stays with you I’m glad it’s not us suffering it tonight.

Watching BBC MotD. I have forgotten Willian has transferred to Arsenal…with the Gunners in such an alien concept of wearing blue, I thought Fulham was actually playing Chelsea!

Leicester not going for a new LB to replace Chilwell?

Castagne is in, but he’s a right footed RB who can only do a job at LB, if I’m right. Fuchs is still there as an utility player.

Also, looking at WBA’s XI, are they playing Gibbs at LCM? They’re pretty light in midfield. Livermore, Sawyers, Harper, Field. The last one was out on loan last season. Bilic said they’re working on signing Krovinovic on a permanent deal, but he’s more of a #10 anyway.

Looks like it’s a back 5 for WBA, Gibbs at LWB. Interested to see how Pereira and Diangana perform this season, one was one of the best players in the Championship last season and the other seems to be very highly rated.

I think the job Bruce did last was one of the most under appreciated stories of the season. If he can replicate what he did last year with the added quality and depth he now has, they’re a comfortable mid table team.

Ha, you bitch.

I dont know that I’ve ever been more downbeat about football than one afternoon in april of 2009. I was able to watch a bit of a Spurs Utd game before I had to leave and go to a mate’s house for a day on the boat. I had watched Spurs take a 2-0 lead against a Utd side that were playing terrible, and right before I had to leave Utd were given an utterly bullshit penalty that helped them pull one back. I got to my mate’s house just in time to watch Utd score their 5th, and with that all the hope I had for us winning the title that year was gone. It hurt almost as much as the Chelsea game.

Looks like Ndidi at CB today as Johnny sits out his red suspension. Shame Madisson didn’t start.

Checked and I don’t get this balance at Leicester. 3 RB’s at the club, 1 LB who is also old. No left-footed in forward areas apart from Iheanacho. I guess they’ll do something in the next month.

That was the Spurs team with likes of Huddlestone in the fold. Yes, I remember.

Think that was the same month Macheda scored a late winner against Villa shortly before falling off the face of the planet. I don’t think I watched anymore United matches for the rest of that season, too draining.

Brendan Rodgers looks kinda like me with his new haircut. That’s not a credit to either of us though.

Bangladeshi Brendan?

Nice goal from Castagne. Looks good at RB. Pereira in trouble when he gets back…or switched left?

So all three new signings start for Everton. Looking forward to this one now

West Brom looked pretty hapless in attack. Not much better on defense.

Going by the opening day 2 going straight back down and 1 staying up. :grinning:

On paper, I think I prefer the Everton XI. Allan, Doucore, and Gomes has the makings of a tidy unit. You just dont want to be relying on Calvert Lewin for goals

I missed the game but Castagne must be pretty special if he’s seriously being considered ahead of Pereira.
