Premier League 2021/22 (Part 2)

I think that additional sentence should be scratched by 10 cats for 180 hours.

This is really good from Wolves, it’s the second year in a row that they do this at the end of the season.

Questions on everything in and around the club, every aspect of it. Of course you get a lot of PR rubbish in answers, but at least there’s something towards the fans, so that they know a bit more where the club is at and where they’re going.

July 30: Manchester United vs. Atletico Madrid, (Ullevaal Stadium, Oslo)

This is a weird one. Why not play at Manchester or Madrid?

The whole point about pre-season tours is to tour.

I’ve said it before but I would have liked Liverpool to go on tour to Africa. Playing matches in Senegal, Egypt and Guinea for example might not bring in the big money but it would certainly be remembered by fans in those countries and by the players at the club who are deeply passionate about their home countries…

Yeah, that would be great. I wish we have Latin American tour. They have some amazing stadiums. As for Africa, I think the weather is a dampening issue. Besides, these tours are all about money.

Rudiger what were they watching.

Nah, he was brilliant this season.

My issue is Ronaldo. Should be Son in there.

Good early in the season but poor second half.
Agree about Son.

Any reason Salah and Mané are on the wrong sides?

Ronaldo = popularity contest and the PFA sucking for TV revenue.

Joel was overlooked IMO.

I’ve no problem with the selections, mind, but a case could be made for Joel over Virg or Rudiger.

EDIT: it’s just a popularity contest as stated above.

Why would the PFA be after TV revenue?

where does the money come from to pay their incredibly posh salaries? CEO makes ~£2m/year.

Thiago is a very strange inclusion I have to say.

So is Mane over Son :astonished: :astonished:

Ronaldo? Seriously???

A % is deducted from player salaries.

exactly. it’s a player’s union. and the larger the salaries, the more money for PFA. Where does the money come from, amigo? TV broadcast revenues, club/player sponsorships and gate receipts.

it’s the same for nearly every big money professional league. the superstars are the flagships of the league so keep them in the spotlight. it’s fucking annoying to see him on this list considering who was left out, but the PFA knows what side of the bread their butter is on.

Imagine the scenes if either Messi or Ronaldo end up in MLS… but the clubs over here just simply don’t have the revenues to pay those kinds of salaries. Beckham was smart enough to do it early and ended up buying a seat at the owners’ table!
