Shot stopping he’s pretty good, but now as a modern day keeper you need to be able to do a lot more and he’s lacking in those areas especially distribution and the awareness of what’s around him.
I know we talked a lot about our injuries and the residual impact of the mad pursuit of the quadruple.
But I’ve been thinking about another factor that added to the “weirdness” of the start of the season for us…
- We had a regular (5pm’ish start against the champions and we beat them.
-Then we had to kick-off the PL, at lunch time, away at FFC, the just promoted darling of London, that no team had played against for a while.
-We then had to face 2 Monday Night Football games. How convenient for the league to make us play after everyone else had played. Both the early and the MNF kick-offs affect players and coaches, and I remember an analysis of actual results which supported this.
Oh, and this schedule also messed with our supporters. First, they could not enjoy the weekend, either by playing so early, or by having to wait till Monday night. And then by making them take time off, or getting them to cancel family and other obligations. Who cares about LFC supporters anyway eh?
Not just our fans/team suffer due to tgese shite KO times. I remember Bournemouth’s first game in the Prem being a Monday night KO away to us. Surely if they had to play away at Anfield first game make it a Saturday 3PM KO.
Last year when we hosted Norwich in the Cup (midweek) the games that night had staggered KOs 7, 7.15, 7.30, 7.45 and 8PM. Palce played Spurs (2 London clubs) in an earlier KO. While Norwich had to wait until 8 to KO.
No thought is given to any teams fans/players when arranging these fixtures. We played last week at 8 on Wednesday then Saturday at 12.30. It’s not allowed to play early Saturday if it’s a Euro game on Wednesday. Why was it acceptable after a Prem game?
Rightly so there is lots of hoo-ha regarding the oil states taking over and buying the premiership…
Yet are we not blinkered by this when the TV companies are the ones that have actually taken the game over, and at the same time, away from the fans and seem set set to run it into the ground until there is no longer a football game; as we used to know it; that is enjoyable or exciting enough to watch anymore!
Fans should always come first…
Where’s the fairness??? (I suppose we shouldn’t be asking that question with Paul Tierney in charge)
We have that … Madley again against Wolves who fucked us against Fulham, Wolves can do as they please.
You could even say…he’ll throw us to the Wolves
I’ll get me coat
Man Utd defending pretty well against us, mostly because we played like shite, but also because everytime we did manage to get near their goal they were allowed to be overly physical.
You mean straight assault
Diego Costa’s move to Wolves has hit a snag after the Spanish international was denied a work permit, with the club appealing the decision.
The striker’s work permit turned down as he has not played enough international games…
(Skysports)
Strange, not entirely ITK when it comes to work permits but does the fact he’s played for Chelsea for 3 years or whatever it was not count for anything? Was he even a full international before he joined?
How on earth is Paul Tierney still a referee?
Pre-Brexit being implemented fully
That’s a normal day at the office for Salah. The only difference is that Mo would stay on his feet and use his strength most of the times as he knows the ref ain’t gonna give him anything.
Tierney is from Salford, how can he impartially referee a Man Utd game? The answer is he can’t, so it shouldn’t happen.
Where he’s from aside, isn’t he just a terrible referee in general?
He is, but so are most of the other Premier League referees.
What the hell??? Is it that bad over there?
Who’d have thought that desperation leads to crime?
Context appears lost. This was a warning shared by Italian authorities for fans going to Naples.
