What evidence ? You have no evidence, saying so is just bizarre. You are trying to convince me that it is logical to think that a) Arsenal is undeservedly many points ahead of us and b) that it is logical to think we will equalise the points difference and that we certainly won’t end up more than 5 points behind them come the end of the season snd you do so in a passive agressive manner. I dont see a problem in believing either, but you have not shown any “evidence”. You seem to think its some sort of fan crime to forecast that we end up far behind them and I dont know how to respond to that nor do I want a long argument over this.
I dont want to spend more time debating this but note that for some reason you must have me confess I am wrong. I cant do that. It is my current opinion. It may change, but right now its my opinion and that should really be fine. I certainly cannot and should not be expected to say you are correct. Neither of us have any evidence, we have indisiums and you seem to think your indisiums are stronger than mine and I currently do not agree.
Like i said above, you may hold me to it. Whatever, it is not as if I will be unhappy if you and everyone else I currently think too positive are correct. I will be happy if you are proven right.
It is not important for me to be right here, of course, as I want Liverpool to win the league and the Champions League too. But right now it looks like it will be a great struggle to achieve Top 4.
And yeah, while I dont think its likely, I do hope Arsenal wins the league. Because we cannot and I rather see Arsenal win than Tottenham snd certainly City. They will likely fail, but yes, I do think they will end up many points ahead of us.
The irony with all of this is that I am not even particularly negative, apart from my prediction and my lamentation of injuries and bad form. I never say anything bad about our players (apart from sometimes saying player X played badly, but never have I called them names like some do in frustration and I have never been on “someones back” ) and never about our management.
And that’s all there is. I am done with the subject here and dont understand the need for a long argument about this subject. If you end up being right, great !!! Would love it.
Interesting to note we’ve had 3 away fixtures at 12.30 on a Saturday, two after a Wednesday game.
Sky have given us a Saturday night this weekend which I prefer if we are to play Wednesday. I am starting to have issues with BT as they started this last season.
Hopefully the fact we’ve featured 3 times hopefully leaves us off there for a while.
My point, which you are failing to grasp, is that they are ahead of us, but that is quite possibly due to the scheduling. The evidence is in the the relative positions on the table of the teams that have played either Arsenal or us.
I made a comment that your view was overly pessimistic, pointing out that you were focusing too much on the season so far, which is too small a sample to really extrapolate from. As others have already said on here, if there were 10 games or fewer to go, and we were 12 points behind with the current injury list then there’s a lot more reason to believe that we wouldn’t catch up. This focus on recent form is the myopia that I was referring to, that you want to perceive as an insult. I specifically said “that”, referring to your view, but you have chosen to take that as an insult, which I cannot change.
I certainly am not attacking you as a poster, I’m disagreeing with that belief that Arsenal are so good and unbeatable. This time last season, it was Tuchel’s Chelsea. Next season, it will be another team.
To me I think it’s still possible although rather unlikely. Would take a lot of events coming together to make it happen, which is possible in a freak season.
Let us just please move on, I am tired. Normally nothing against you, but you are really testing my patience with your accusations about me not being able to comprehend your glorious points and I am thoroughly fed up in all possible ways concerning this topic. If you want to talk to me again in the next weeks, you’ll let this rest. If you want me to take a long break from the forum, just continue doing exactly what you are doing because you and a couple of other posters are close to suceeding.
