Premier League 2022/23 (Part 1)

Just wait.

We go from beating a top 4 side 7-0 and another in the top 5 2-0 to losing to the bottom of the league.

So weā€™ve just seen a Leeds striker feign a tackleā€¦so book himā€¦sky showed the misdemeanor within 20 secondsā€¦so why the f**?i is wunderVAR so crapā€¦just advise the ref to look at the pitch side screenā€¦it canā€™t be that difficultā€¦

This is some weekend at Bernieā€™s shit going on at Palace. Who is really managing Palace and what have they done with the real Roy.?

Been watching Germany and Spain and the VAR just seems to be far better managed, ok there are examples but it happens 1-2 games across the weekend.

Our lot seem to have the computer skills of a rabbit.

Roy looks in the mirror, sees Pep Guardiola.

Just heard Rebecca Lowe talking about this. My fear is itā€™s a PL game held in the US.

I was fearing the same.

The PGMOL made a statement on the Robbo incident already. On reflection, Im surprised they let him even take the pitch for the second half given how indefensible that was and how badly it undercut his position of authority.

Poor Roy. He keeps this up heā€™ll be the first name called after Boxing Day later this year. Just donā€™t call when heā€™s having his afternoon nap because it pisses off the Mrs.

Arsenalā€™s run-in is much more difficult for me - unless Man City get some injuries and fatigue because of the FA Cup and CL. If the Brentford and Brighton away games came sooner, then maybe Man City would have a chance of dropping points but the two of them might be done in the league by then.

Those four fixtures from Man City to Brighton are key.

So, I decided to watch MoM again, for the first time these last months. First game was Abu Dhabi, so I swerved it as I donā€™t want to watch a minute from these corrupt cheaters.

Next game, Tottenham vs. Brighton: refs and VAR denying penalties for Brighton, disallowing goals for Brighton and singlehandedly managing to hand Tottenham the three points instead of Brighton who deserved it 100%.

After having watched this absolute scandal of a refereeing, I switched off the television. It was absolutely clear to me that this wasnā€™t some bizarre form of incompetence, but plain daylight robbery.

As far as Iā€™m concerned, Iā€™m absolutely done with this utterly corrupt league.

It may not be sufficient, but I dont see it as incoherent. Fans dont buy advertising boards and wear them on their chest. If you want to lower the profile of gambling in the game, it is meaningfully more important to remove them from the shirts than it is other advertising around the ground.

Iā€™d love to see fans buying advertising boards and wearing them on their chest

Agree with you. I guess the counter to that would be more people watch it live on telly/internet, than will likely to see the shirt out and about.

Edit: read it now - that is the counter - seen much more.

And my geggenpress would be to say that I dont think I could tell you a single sponsor that appeared on the advertising boards at any of our games last season. In history the only ones I could tell you are clothes companies, because that was my mumā€™s business and it would be the only thing sheā€™d ever take from a game

ā€œJon jon jon jon jonā€¦Bonobo jeans are advertising at the game. Jon. Bonobos.ā€
