And our commentators are complaining that it’s harsh
Shitty struggle when teams spring a quick counter with supporting players. With the crackdown in place this season (4 of the 6 matches today so far has had a red card), Shitty are finding that they are getting yellows for Fernandinho specials at times (granted not often engough though).
I would love nothing better than to appear behind them in their commentary gantry and BANG their heads together
Never expected much, Brighton away aren’t as good.
Except at Old Trafford.
Can’t back myself to want a Chelsea win here, so a draw would do me followed by a Sheffield win.
Oh my god…just saw the cook red in the Bournemouth game. It was one of those stupid “headbuts”, the sort where it’s only a red card if the other player play acts by throwing themselves on the floor.
In the Newcastle game there is no way in hell Murphy meant the first to be a shot. He was clearly trying to find isak at the back post
Meant the 3pm games, the two later ones have a bit more, though I think they should be ok
Naughty one by Palmer.
Chelsea Penalty
Clear as day.
I can’t argue with this.
But how come they can review a penalty a few minutes after the play but they can’t bring back Diaz’s goal against Spurs?
Is that a serious question?
I’m willing to believe it’s a serious question, because given all the bullshit in the media, it’s quite obvious that many of the talking heads influencing people’s opinions have no idea how VAR works.
So why would it be surprising that a fan wouldn’t know?
Yes.
As I understand it, the ruling on the Diaz goal was that once the game was restarted, they couldn’t stop it because of the flow of play after the restart.
But doesn’t the game continue to flow after the penalty before it goes to VAR?
Sure, and what happens if Arsenal had scored before the VAR review? Would that goal count?
Arsenal… a lot of huffin and puffin but no edge. Have they had a shot on target yet?
They don’t want the game to be stopped for a var review so if something needs to be reviewed they will wait until the next stoppage, which is what happened here. The game won’t be allowed to restart then until the var review is over
Once the game restarts from that point any further intervention from var on anything that came before is not supposed to be allowed, which is why they claimed in our game they couldn’t correct their error
Exactly.
As I understand it, the goal would not stand.
As soon as the VAR booth understood that a mistake had been made and Diaz’s goal was good, they should have stopped the match and awarded the goal. That’s consistent with awarding a VAR penalty after a few minutes of play has passed.
