PSG v Liverpool, Wednesday 5th March, 20:00

Load of fucking fannies in this place, too fucking scared to open a match thread.

Anyway, I expect a full-strength lineup here, given that we’ve had a week’s rest since the easy defeat of Newcastle.

Ali
Trent Ibou Virg Robbo
Mac Grav
Mo Dom Lucho
Jota

Our opponents are in flying form, having won their last ten games in all competitions by an aggregate score of 40-7. Still, they haven’t met anyone of the calibre of the Tricky Reds, and I fully expect us to leave the French capital with at least a draw.

That’s your problem.

I’ll bring it home in a weeks time…

Didn’t want you to start on your moans when I deliberately mess up the timezones.

There’s no need to mess up the timezones. You just put the time applicable in the UK - that’s it.

If other people can’t work out their local time from there, that’s their problem.

Very excited for this one (as neutrals should also be), two of the most in form teams in Europe right now.

I’m pretty sure we’ll go with a Salah, Gakpo and Diaz front 3. We will need activity in all phases of the game. The rest picks itself really.

Two teams without a classic striker (Dembele having a great season for them mostly playing as false #9), but proactive approaches both on and off the ball.

I’m still of the believe the Brest results were a bit hyped up.

Considering they also smashed them in the league

They hammered Lille 4-1 yesterday and were very impressive by all accounts and the general consensus is that they are a much better outfit now that Mbappé is no longer there. The French league is a fucking joke though and they’re up against the Champions Elect of England.

1-1 (Followed by a thrashing at Anfield)

Thing is in between the Brest games they only narrowly beat Lyon and Toulouse.

I’m sure that Arne and his team will know the personnel, tactics and formation to see us through this game. COYR YNWA :+1:

I know I’ll be in a minority of 1 but I can’t be arsed with this. Only game I’m interested in in the next week is Southampton.
AS will think differently. He’ll think we can afford to take chances in the PL given the lead we have so will go full strength here.
In that case I’d love it if we can reproduce the City away performance where we pretty much kept them at arm’s length and never looked like we got out of 3rd gear.
VVD, Trent, Gravenberch, MacAllister and Salah will probably start both. We can rotate in other areas.
Robbo, Konate, Jones, Gakpo and Nunez to start in Paris, Tsimikas, Quansah, Szoboslai, Diaz and Jota to start next weekend.
We should be looking to use our sub options to give rest where needed and to take time out of the game. I’d like to see Endo, Elliott and Chiesa given decent minutes.
What I don’t want to see is the starting 11 all looking knackered next week, we need to turn the screw on Arsenal and give them absolutely no fucking encouragement whatsoever.

You’re the one to talk, given it took you 5 hours to grow the balls to open it, after announcing “If it’s not done by Sunday morning, I’ll do it!” :stuck_out_tongue_closed_eyes:

Just kidding, it’s great when you behave like that, highly amusing.

Ramadan is here right now until the end of March. We are so lucky that the UCL matches are played after dusk allowing our Muslim players to get a drink before a match…

As for league matches, it is one against the bottom dwellers where we should be beating them!

The tricky one would be the EFL cup final…

Just posting one of my favourite Klopp era games, from the campaign we won it no less.

PSG, will not be used to facing a team like ours. We won’t give the time on the ball they obviously get in abundance in their own league… this will have a large impact on their general play, and hopefully lead to mistakes being made by their players…
We got this… 3-1 to the boys

At least a draw???

We leaving there with a win.

I think Enrique is a very good coach and PSG has some good players.

We’d be daft to underestimate PSG. But that said this is a match over two legs and the second leg at Anfield would favour us.

The team selection will be tricky. Considering that the cup shouldnt be lost over one leg. We should conserve our legs.

As far as the lineup goes. We are pretty restricted in terms of who we can start with in defense. Hopefully we play a more pragmatic brand of football there and then catch PSG napping.

We never got out of 2nd gear there but probably the way we should approach this.
