Rangers vs Liverpool | CL Match Day 4 | Wed, 12 Oct, 20:00 | Ibrox

So there is no confirmation on Matip it seems, it’s a spell but no suggestion how long.

Good to hear it’s 6-8 weeks on Diaz as that means he has time to get match fit before we return on Boxing Day.

Did he sort of suggest Keita might be back soon, surprised to see Ox but him and Jones hopefully are options in a week or so.

If Robbo’s back…can we try Kostas on the otherwing…he might be left footed or right footed, but at least it gives him a game and slots into Trents area…I’m sure he’d give his all…and it would confuse the Gers…just a thought(I know it will never happen):blush::blush:.

You do know that Klopp is a TAN member

Are we definitely playing Rangers? I made so many mistakes in the op title so just wondering.

Not really sure anything is certain at this point, except maybe death and taxes.

If we win it puts us within touching distance of going through. I think Rangers are the worst team in the group, so taking six points from them would be nice to do.

We still have games against Ajax and Napoli, and depending on how it all pans out, I’d rather not have to go into the Napoli game needing points to progress. If it comes to that, so be it, but ideally we get this done with a game to spare.

Hostile atmosphere guaranteed. Rangers a big club with passionate fans, back in the CL and wanting to cheer their boys on.

I would play this team:

Alisson
Gomez Konate Van Dijk Tsimikas
Fabinho Thiago
Salah Carvalho Jota
Nunez

We all know we are in a bit of a funk, but in a funny sort of way, the Champions League gives us a nice distraction, and it is a competition we do well in.

There have been some signs that our performance is improving - not enough yet obviously - but hopefully we keep plugging away until we get to our level.

Ideally we make the knockout stages of CL and stay within range of top four by the time of the World Cup break. A key midfield signing in January to boost our ranks, and a focused group, might just see this dog turd of a season end in a better place.

Todays job, beat Rangers. Three points, however they come.

But if we are being picky, clean sheet and no injuries.

Our CEO, Billy Hogan, laid a wreath at the Ibrox Disaster Memorial this afternoon on behalf of all at Liverpool Football Club.

Always remembered.

Presuming Ajax get beaten by Napoli, we’ll just need a point in Amsterdam.

Quite a statement to make that.

Yes but beating Ajax is just for fun … :joy:

Do not have a good feeling about tonight, which is mad as Rangers are absolute pony.

Can see us conceding within 5 minutes and then letting the crowd get on our backs.

I think we’ll win but gain more injuries from their over-zealous cart horses, and end up with Trent up front on his own

Full blown Scottish rules football. Yellow cards are only for showing cowardice in the face of the enemy!

How is that different from any other game?

Where’s best to watch the game in London this eve? I’m in Holborn but willing to travel (not to Glasgow, but within London).

The Spread Eagle at the top of Bond Street is your best bet; not that far from Holborn.
