Salah for Endo (on a card) and move Harvey into right midfield (where he plays much better).
Two wayward passes from the back led to two best situations for West Ham. Got away with it, but then we switched off at the corner and let the smallest forward of West Ham to get the goal.
Diaz looking sharp, and Grav looking much better in defending. West Ham have narrowed the pitch and so we need some more urgency in passing in the right moments (for example, if a player is fere, don’t take an extra touch, but just pass the obvious ball).
Put the youngsters on…atleast it will eradicate the half hearted effort by some.
We are atrocious is final third. Not even one person passes to the player available. Everytime it is to the keeper or a wild shot or hitting the first defender.
But crucially, they are also offensively brilliant. And we are not, we are just good. Sometimes we control midfield really well and make very nice passes, but we score too few goals and out conversion rate is simply too low these days.
To be fair, work rate should be requirement when they are wearing this jersey. It’s all about what else you bring with it that matters.
Once we start going down that route of consistently praising workrate for this guys… mediocrity will not be a far away thing to see.
Something different needs to happen. Change of formation…or stop putting useless crosses all day long. Play at your feet one touch football and play a diamond for 45 min. Put Mo centrally…gakpo behind and Diaz right and Darwin left.
