It’s nothing to do with being “unsuccessful with a transfer”
It’s the monumental fucking balls up due to our laughable approach & tactics to negotiate a deal.

Yes, we wanted him at a certain price. Look we made a play for two players and we came out 2nd best to a team offering more money and longer contracts. It happens, its business. there will always be someone bigger, better or with more money than you. Its only embarrassing because immature kids playing and high-fiving each other on social media say so. Chelsea still have so many holes to fill, lets see were they end up season’s end. There is so much work yet to do, everyone just needs to chill and stay off X or twitter or whatever its called
You mean the tactics as explained by Klopp or any of the LFC staff?
You are making conclusions based on information that you have no way of confirming…
Don’t need him at all. Let’s invite Sangare or Kone + Inacio instead. Will be great investment.
Precisely!
Can’t figure where Carragher and their like are getting this from…
Dunno about that one. We signed Konchesky, Cole, and Jovanovic under Roy. We signed El Hadj Diouf when we should have bought Anelka. The Balotelli window was top notch. Alex Texiera was an odd one, especially after being beaten to Siggurdson (thank fuck for not signing him) and Salah the first time round. Adams, Downing, and Carroll. We’ve had plenty of shockers
Who was it that was stuck in a helicopter circling Liverpool on deadline day back in the naughties? That’s gotta be up there.
This window we’ve signed two midfielders that look top class in Szobozslai and MacAllister. There’s time left to get a holding mid. Nowhere near our worst window by any metric. Just a bit frustrating to have Cheatsea flagrantly flaunting FFP, but not the end of the world. Didn’t work for them last season and I’d be surprised if it did this season, especially when the man they’re trusting to run things is Pochettino; who couldn’t even win the league with PSG.
Pochettino did win the league with PSG, for what it’s worth.
Joyce saying lfc were offered Enzo for £15m last summer.
Plus
@_pauljoyce: There had been enough encouragement from Caicedo’s camp to convince the Anfield club to agree a £111 million deal with Brighton the previous evening, but it quickly became apparent that they had been used.
@_pauljoyce:
"There are players out there - Crystal Palace’s Cheick Doucouré, Andre of Fluminense, Fiorentina’s Sofyan Amrabat and many, many more to be found by amateur scouts on Twitter
@_PaulJoyce: “Klopp knows he must do something to rectify a design fault, although if he does not have an out-and-out No 6 at present, why play with just one player there when Liverpool are out of possession? Could 4-2-3-1 not provide stability in the short term?.”
Not worth much.
I’m surprised he’d choose to sit on Chelsea’s bench. Unless he’s impeccable in the chances he gets, Chelsea will just buy another shiny thing in the winter and try to force him out on loan at some point.
Half of these players aren’t even going to get a chance there. They’re already replacing players they bought last summer… baffling that would be his decision, but he obviously doesn’t have the right mindset if so.
Cheaper option, get Cameron Brannagan back for £2m
And yet it pales in comparison to how embarrassing posts like this are.
It’s almost as if you’ve forgotten some of the deals we have actually completed that are way more embarrassing for the club than this.
No, no @rab, what matters is how everyone else is laughing at us and making fun of us and calling us rejects…thats all that matters… signing mac and dom for less than what Caicedo cost be damned… we need to sign someone and look good while doing it…
i wonder how many other teams were offered enzo at that price and declined. doubt he was only offered to us
What’s embarrassing is your lack of insight into the world of football.
Chelsea are paying Caicedo around £250,000 to £300,000 a week. A 21 year old.
They’ll be offering double at least to what we’d offer Lavia.
Enzo is on £315,000 grand a week.
Nothing to do with negotiation tactics.

Thanks fuck we delayed Lavia and Caicedo deals so that Chelsea couldn’t play them vs us. Imagine how one sided the game would have been. At the end of the day we manufactured a point towards top 10 without spending £170m. Well played.
don’t discuss common sense issues in this place. there’s no reason for being level-headed. gnash your teeth in frustration and throw your toys out of the pram, dammit!
Oh shit, it was the year before him they lost it. My bad. Still, he ain’t a manager on Klopp or Pep’s level and I’d be surprised to see him last a long time at Chelsea
