Like what some said, heads need to roll for this. As for whose heads will roll, it is most likely the intern sporting Director.
Sure as hell, Hogan and Gordon will not be fired for this…

We have no Mike Edwards and Julian Ward to challenge Klopp’s decision on transfer and give him better alternatives…
Has he started his medical yet (or even booked for that matter), or do we still need a few hundred more tweets confirming that he was purchased for £60m with a 8 years contract at £300k a week?
Before we made moves for Caicedo, CFC put in a bid for Lavia, or who knows if it was a real bid but they showed an interest. Saying that it would have been irrelevant is not really compatible knowing that Chelsea have had an interest. Even if we read this a month ago: ‘Liverpool meet Southampton’s valuation’. Within 12 hours we’d also be reading this: ’ What’s this?? Chelsea beating Liverpool’s price and Lavia prefers Chelsea?’ (ie. prefers £300k/wk over 8+1 years).
We are not competing as a better destination when a club can make a personal financial offer to players like Chelsea are doing. Even with the likes of RM, MC, PSG, what Chelsea are doing right now is unheard of.
The only good news is Chelsea have absolutely no idea what they are doing. If they did know what they are building, then you would expect they may be able to recoup costs on some of these players and, obviously not meet UEFA/PL financial obligations, but at least make it look not so bad. But their financial reporting is going to be very very interesting over the next 5 years.
Who was responsible for the BS boasting that initially sunk the VVD deal and cost us 10m and 6 months - was that also Gordon? If so he needs removing
I really hope that next time we’ll be able to do everything quietly and unobtrusively, without this whole drama, when who bid on whom and so on.
Tom Werner IIRC
They offered to pay his ULEZ charges.
When I posted this, Wolves looked the safer bet. Every time I laugh at Utd whilst they’re playing, someone scores…I think all of Sanchez’s goals were my fault.
Devastated this backfired. I feel dirty.
I didn’t want this guy anyway, I don’t know much about him. Southampton were so poor last season I never paid interest in them or Lavia.
Caicedo would’ve been nice to steal away from Chelsea, though I don’t think we was interested until our Lavia bids were rejected. However I’m not too bothered about not getting him either, think we saved a nice sun of money, but also proves that we have £111m available for the right player.
Might as well shut this thread.
Didn’t they only come in for him last week when their deal for Tyler Adams broke down meaning had we closed out a deal for him a week earlier they probably wouldn’t have been in for him.
Not massively pushed myself on losing out on him for where he is now as a player.50/60 mp and whatever else comes with that is too much to pay for potential, when there is no guarantee it will ever be realised.
More storm in a tea cup around here.
I bet they’re even throwing in a ULEZ compliant sports car as part of the deal
Who cares what happened, if he would jump just for money, then he wasn’t an LFC type player. Let’s face it Chelsea are no world behemoths.
Another song……The Fortunes.
Possibly. But there were frequent noises that Chelsea were in contact with Southampton too. They may have just been waiting to see if we could set a price with Southampton before moving in.
Nah it was that idiot Tom Werner. Fortunately, I don’t think that he has much to do with us anymore these days, apart from being a fsg part-owner.
Gordon on the other hand, who left for a while, is back, and I think that it is a good thing going forward, as it’s him who will have a big hand in deciding who our next SD will be. He took the decision to promote Edwards for that role at the time, so he can be trusted to make good decisions when needed. Imo, him leaving a while ago is one reason why we seem a bit unsettled these days, and hopefully he’ll bring back stability to the club.
Incoming fight
I thought 5 years was the most they were allowed. Still a pain whatever.
