He’s not as good as Bellingham right now, obviously, but yeah he has a unique skillset. There’s no reason why he couldn’t get to that level in future.
In 6/7 years time Bellingham will probably be one of the best CMs in the world just like he is now, but he won’t be the only CM/DM either. Lots of other players, probably some of which we haven’t even heard of yet will be at or near his level. I think Lavia will be one of those (assuming he doesn’t get serious injuries and his attitude remains good).
Well Mr Henry you have gotten a beautiful nice new Anfield road stand with lots of hospitality possibilities that will increase the value of your product and it did not cost you a dime, now cough up the extra ponds …
He’s half decent and a good fit for West Ham (mid table, EL/ECL ambitions at best).
As for the price - I assume he’s on quite a lengthy contract at United. Alexis for £35m is looking a steal every passing day. Lavia, who has a much higher ceiling than McTominay, for £45m would be better than okay!
One thing I find odd about West Ham going in for these Utd players is that in recent years they appeared to have moved away from buying players from the big English sides and getting value from teams from the continent.
I wonder if they are finding it more difficult this summer because bigger clubs are looking to buy players covering the same positions at the same time?
Nothing wrong with a club wanting a certain amount for a player who they have obligation to sell.
At what point Liverpool go no and walk away is up to us. We are in a negotiation stage these things happen.
WHU might want a certain amount for a certain player, if they are under no obligation to sell then why not, if they want rid then it’s entirely different.
Lavia is a very unusual animal; he appears to be comfortable and proficient in the first, second and even the third phase. It’s easy to see why Klopp (and Southampton, sadly) values him so highly. He would be a gamble, certainly, but what player isn’t in the transfer market?
It’s gotten to a point now that I would be gutted if we didn’t manage to sign him.
