Germany and France can’t seem to recognize the failure in their approach in how to deal with Putin.
Looking forward to images of that crane being blown to pieces in the upcoming days. Not sure why they’re throwing good money after bad tbh. Operational suicide.
That crane is a big target ! I was thinking the same. Let us hope that they manage to target it for real.
Maybe Macron can work some sort of deal where France cedes Normandy to Russia to secure peace? Normandy hasn’t really been part of France for that long, just a few centuries.
This is more alarming though. Seems like Scholz wants to force Ukraine into a cease fire as fast as possible if Russia accepts one. That would be a disaster.
I’ve been extremely disappointed with the rather less than robust position adopted by both France and Germany both towards Russia and also in support of Ukraine. It has been nowhere near good enough.
Would seem to be in direct contradiction with what he said explicitely about a week ago, so I’m not sure what he means exactly. And in any case you just don’t communicate such delicate matters with 11 words and no further explanation in a tweet. His communication is an absolute disaster, I’m not even sure the rest of the government knows what his position is.
Certainly causing a lot of confusion elsewhere in NATO, two steps forward, two steps back.
It’s as if he is locked in the old Peace At All Cost thinking. Some people have that, thinkiing that Cease Fire is always the best, but he is an intelligent man and a chancellor so should not have such immature thoughts.
