This is quite disheartening, but to be fair, I’m surprised that it didn’t happen sooner. The Ukrainians have done exceptionally well until now. But now, it seems that the Russians have brought their act together and are really hurting the Ukrainian troops. Hopefully the latter will be able to extract themselves from that Severodonestk-Lysychansk pocket before it’s too late…

Yeah, but painful giving up that pocket of fortified defenses. It will be difficult to recapture. Russians are simply too superior in that area for now so a withdrawal seems probably prudent.

I wonder… the Ukrainians managed to regain territory towards the north of Kharkiv and forced the Russians to retreat. Where are these troops now? A few days ago, the Ukrainians seemed able to put pressure on the Russian troops from the North-West, but their offensive seems to have stalled? All we hear is Russians advancing on all fronts now?

That’s confusing to me as well. UA supposedly almost pushed Russkies out of the country on the north. Russkies advancements stalled, doing nothing but losing troops and armor… and suddenly they’re advancing like a hot knife through a butter.
