This guy is still only 20?
So do we really want him to play the 6? This move concerns me. I really don’t like him as a player, everything I’ve seen is very passive, very half-hearted. He won;t beat out Mac Allister or Szoboszlai so logically the only position he would regularly start is at the base of midfield and I really don’t like that idea.
Feels like we are taking a flyer on a player we aren’t 100% convinced by in the hope of taking what he does have (natural talent) and seeing if we can develop more of the robustness and mental application once he is in our training room.
I’m not expecting miracles, personally.

Potentially frees up Macallister to do that role alongside Endo and Bajectic.
That’s how I assumed it. I don’t think after Endo we were going do another DM and if we do you can probably class Endo as CB cover.

I don’t think it will cost the money the other two were, he’s still very young, and his traits line up with what Klopp seems to like - he can turn and run with the ball, tall and imposing, etc. I think he’s coming in more as a challenge to Jones then those two. We play a lot of games and I think there are minutes to be had. If it’s in 25ish mil pound fee, I think it would be worth it.

How do his stats compare with that of pre-Liverpool Wijnaldum, was he seen as an intensive player before his move?
