Sadio Mane (LW) to Bayern

He got fed up in the owners thread. He has a particular viewpoint, which caused some rancour on both sides.
Its a pity because he is a really good forum member, well able to voice controversial and against the grain opinion.
I know how he posited his theories or ideas in the owners thread might have annoyed some people, but he is a decent guy in my view.

You can see how a club like Bayern would appeal, after 6 years of basically minimal break, twice a week full intensity 90 minutes in the strongest league in the worldā€¦ To swap that for a club which basically has a free pass to the league and requiring only 5% of your games to need to be fully tilt could sound pretty dam nice.

The issue was less his viewpoint, but the expertise he professed to have and his failure to accept when he was wrong, or that many of those who disagreed with him had a greater professional understanding than he did.

Huge difference between having a controversial viewpoint (e.g. weā€™re better off without Salah), than just being plain wrong, especially about basic facts.

He might be wrong, but its not a minority sport on here or any forum.
He seems a decent guy in my view, and I hope he returns to posting on the forums again.

dont Mane to leave tbh,

but i respect his wishes ( if his desire to leave is true )

at least heā€™s been honest with us and not mucked us around by asking for more cash
wanting to be the highest paid player at the club, because he feels he is worth it
or telling us he will leave for free next season if he doesnt get what he wants,
and could even join another EPL club,

due to his honesty and the fact that he will leave for a fee rather than wind down his contract and leave for nothing, means my respect for Mane has grown.

All this talk about Sadio leavingā€¦has anything official actually been confirmed/said/ ???

Nothing official, from Liverpool, Mane, or Bayern, will be said until a deal is reached. Till then it will be all rumors of varying reliability.

How can Bayern afford to pay Sadio that much and we canā€™t come at least near it? We make more money from Tv revenues, we have good commercial
deals, we donā€™t overspend in general wages, surely we can come near that figure?

Iā€™d expect itā€™s connected to lewandowski leaving, heā€™s on Ā£400k a week.

Bayern earn 100m more than us. Also, they donā€™t have so many top-earners on their wage bill like us.

Right then we should be able to afford at least one of Sadio or Mo? Almost sounds like we wonā€™t have either after next year

From what? Being perennial champions of a farmers league? Or is it their stadium earnings? Weā€™ve done just as well as them if not better in CL since JK came

Personally doubt it, thatā€™s double our current highest earner. I think it also has a lot to do with guaranteed earnings, Mo for example earns around Ā£350k a week but only if he hits all his bonuses. Similar Manes basic is Ā£100k but he gets around Ā£175k. Itā€™s my understanding they now want much less bonus related wages and much higher basic, which is where our structure canā€™t absorb.

Thatā€™s disappointing, I was hoping weā€™d at least be able to compete with the likes of Bayern by now, Madrid I get (they make crazy money through image rights, Tv deals, lenient loans wtc), Man City are just diary money, letā€™s see what happens with Chelsea. No top player will currently go to
Man U even though they make money for nowā€¦starting to feel like we are not where we should be.

Bayern 634.1m: Matchday 70.3, Broadcast 203.3, Commercial 360.5
Liverpool 558.6m: Matchday 82.7, Broadcast 232.5, Commercial 243.4

Think theres enough reliable people reporting the Sadio to Bayern move that it is more than likely true.

Would Love Mo to resign but the club have been very clear they have done everything they can and no deal has been reached so unless Mo backs down we will be bidding him farewell next Summer too.

Both have given us their best years and whilst I would like both to resign 3-4 year deals and stay I can see why the club would be examining its options. Its alot of money to sink into two players both of whom rely on speed and agility who are both approaching the end of their peak.

Thing is they might not even be paying Sadio that much he is probably going get more but if he genuinely wants a new challenge then it doesnā€™t matter how much it is.

If these numbers are right, then our commercial guys really need to improve their work. Itā€™s unacceptable that a global club like LFC, with hundreds of millions of fans worldwide, isnā€™t able to match the Bavarian Lederhosen in that regard ffsā€¦

He should go and play for Tranmere then.
