Sadio Mane (LW) to Bayern

Dont Leave Me I Need You GIF by Suits

To have such a likable guy as Sadio to join the club I hate most :face_vomiting:

More than anyone Iā€™d say Sadio is a player who needs to feel loved but he is not going to get love at Bayern. Itā€™s all cold business.

Pretty sure in private Sadio is an introvert shy person but joining Bayern basically means giving up on your privacy.

Doubt language is going to be a problem. He played in Salzburg and under Klopp + Bayern have at least 7 players who speak French.

But the culture shock. I highly doubt it is going to work out for him there. In a few months they are going to put him in those Lederhosen and make him pose for a brewery at the Oktoberfest.

Love you Sadio, but not going to wish you luck at Bayern.

No likable clubs can afford him. Sad truth about football.

  • Heā€™s won everything with LFC
  • Age
  • Thinking about retirement
  • Salary (taking the above point into consideration and what Bayern are reportedly offering)

That may be true, but for those of us who live in Germany, itā€™s especially galling.

Donā€™t want Mane or Mo to go but at the same time canā€™t begrudge a player want to maximise his earnings while they can.
But,if it goes over the top,and they want to go goodbye Sadio and anyone else who goes over the top.And at the figure quoted and his age Sadio is well over the top.
Sadly the days are gone when youā€™ d want to play for the shirt, now you play,in a lot of cases, for your agent and your Bank Manager.

I think heā€™d be brilliant over there in the Bundesliga, if the current Sadio Mane plays to 100% of his capabilities and doesnā€™t relax a little bit. Would give Bayern the flexibility to be used in at least two positions.

ā€¦and referees wonā€™t wave play-on every time he is hacked downā€¦

Let me just throw in a few facts first, before giving my view. Iā€™ll put VVD in there as well as a way of comparison.

VVD joined Jan 2018, now aged 30, 3 years left (extended in Aug 2021)
Sadio joined Summer 2016, now aged 30, 1 year left (extended in Nov 2018)
Salah joined Summer 2017, now almost aged 30, 1 year left (extended in July 2018)

Sadio and Salah have both played about double the amount of games Suarez ever played for us. If Sadio goes, and Mo leaves on a free next year, thatā€™s 6 years playing for us at the peak of their career.

What more should be expected?

Is DaveOCKOP a reliable source?

With Origi and Mane leaving weā€™re almost certainly bringing in another forward.

Darwin Nunez ticks all those boxes.
Jonathan David ticks all those boxes
And Patrick Schick ticks all those boxes.

Blood !

What boxes ?

The ā€˜is a professional footballer who is also a forwardā€™ box. Isnā€™t that enough for you?

I would given him a pay rise if I was the owner, I am still in denial that the owners will change their mind and give him the money he deserves.

I donā€™t think it was a question of giving him a payrise, he was most likely getting one. The issue is how much is he expecting and how much did the club feel it could pay. Unfortunately, it looks like the gap between those two points was just too big.

It will be interesting to see how much Bayern are paying him. And what other deals we can do this summer.

Whereā€™s @AnfieldRdDreamer when we need him.

I know, he has been quiet lately. I hope he is alright.

Donā€™t begrudge him a move. He owes us nothing. But I donā€™t think heā€™ll get the same love, or same success anywhere else

No, he doesnā€™t owe us anything, but heā€™s taking a step down if he joins Bayern Munich. Heā€™ll win the German League each year, but so what? I think heā€™ll miss pulling that red shirt on and walking out onto the Anfield pitch. It wonā€™t be long before heā€™s sitting in his Munich apartment thinking to himself, ā€œWhat the fuck have I doneā€?
