Sadio Mane (LW) to Bayern

So, err, wtf is actually going on?

Firstly I believe football players are transient workers, here one day, gone tomorrow. Even Rush, Owen and Macca all left to make more money and play for other teams. It is the nature of the business. When a player is shit we cannot wait for the club to get rid of them. we are not concerned about how that impacts their families that have settled well in that place, we are more interested in the transfer money that they can generate so we can buy a younger and fresher star. We are however disappointed when a player that is still useful or in their prime chooses not to spend those prime years with us (Suarez, Sterling). but its the nature of the business and goes both ways…

Sadio has always been in Salah’s shadow, right or wrong and i can understand why the Senegalese folks feel a type of way…

all i can say is thanks Mane for the memories and good luck in the future…

I have to say I’m shocked that Mané’s wage has been so incredibly low this whole time. I think he’s made it pretty clear that there is a bit of friendly rivalry with Salah, and if I was him, knowing I’m barely a rung down from Salah in terms of ability, I would be a bit pissed that I was considered as merely a midrange player by the club, at less than half of Salah’s wage. He probably has never felt like a fan favourite either. There have been occasions where Mané has been the scorer and Salah’s assist had led to the crowd breaking out into the Salah song. Did Mané ever get his own song? As a big Mane fan the lack of expressed love has never sat right with me.

I wish him all the best with whatever he chooses. He deserves to be the main forward target in whatever team he plays in. Initially I was questioning why he’d choose an ageing Bayern team but hes only going to be at the top of the game for a few more years so it’s probably a good match.

I’m not even really bothered about what he’s saying in the media. It’s not going to make me forget what he’s accomplished with the club.

exactly this… always played 2nd fiddle to salah…

Guys, seriously. His wages are much higher and it is well published in lots of sources - older and newer ones. Mentioned 100k salary is his first contract when he signed for Liverpool. And it was last time when some info could be leaked from the club. After that those fan-fiction sites just cope paste year by year.
It is well published that in 2018 he re-signed together with Firmino and Salah. And his wages are well above 150k of basic salary that was mentioned during that time:

And this information is kinda confirmed from the bavarian press:

If the move were to take place, Mané would be one of Bayern’s top earners with around 20 million euros gross per year - significantly more than currently in Liverpool, where he only gets slightly more than half Bayern’s offer

So please, stop this “peanuts propaganda”. He earns more that 10 mln a year, that actually gets him in the top 15-20 highest earners in EPL. He values himself higher, club doesn’t agree with this evaluation. Everyone will move on and be happy - Mane, Liverpool, Bayern.

If the last confirmed contract signing took him to £150k/wk, that’s not £10m/yr is it? That’s more like £7.8m. Where are you getting the info that it’s £10m?

If Mane goes, he goes and he’ll be replaced, that’s football. I just want it to happen quickly and not drag on throughout the summer. I don’t want to listen to endless bullshit from him and the media about, “I’ll go where the Senegalese want me to go”. What rubbish Sadio, you’ll go where you want to go and where the money is.

Year to year growth mentioned in some sources, so 180/200k mentioned for the last 2 contract years. And we know our incentives bonuses approach to contracts.

I don’t think the Bundesliga opens its transfer window until July 1, so we’ll have at least a month of this until he actually signs with them - if not longer if the Reds are tough on the negotiations.

Why people think SI or any other media outlet has any inside in players contracts is something I will never understand.

I can’t find that Twitt, but there was one that mentioned that Bayern is offering Mane €20mil gross which is double of what he is getting now at Liverpool. So Mane is on €10mil gross or €5mil net at Liverpool. That’s €96k/w or £83k/w.

I think it’s ridiculous.

apologies if it already been discussed,

but why do 60-70% of Senegalese want Sadio to leave Liverpool?

what did we do to upset them?

They think Real Madrid is more prestigious club, which is a load rubbish in my view. I guess Real Madrid market themselves better as a more glamorous club.

20mil per year is 384k a week gross.
10mil per year is 192k a week.

So sorry it’s not ridiculous, it’s about right. But whoever posted what they did on twitter you read is just cherry picking bits to make it look bad on fsg.

He’s asking to double his wages here, which there is no doubt he is worth that level of wages… We simply can’t afford it.

Would also be interesting to know how many people voted in the poll.

16 million people in Senegal, wouldn’t surprise me if it was one of these shit twitter polls he has seen that have about 4k votes ha ha.

Was the poll organised by that muppet El Hadji Diouf by any chance?

But you’d need a proper source to back that up. The only real information available to us is the £150k/week we know about, and that would just sneak him into the top 30 and not even close to the top 15-20 as you suggest.

Isn’t it a thousand times confirmed information, that all Liverpool contracts are heavy performance based?
Just for the reference - Rudiger just signed for RM for 9 mln euro - in 2022 as free agent. Pogba’s base salary is 7.75 mln pound - the biggest joke of a contract that we like to remind.
So not sure how Mane can be treated as a martyr under FSG bastards. Unless we trust cheap site aggregator where Robertson earns less than Davies.

Maybe the German league offers a better conduit for prospective youngsters from Senegal into professional football…
He could be helping to pave the way for lots of them… Obviously I haven’t got a clue really why he would swop clubs, but there we have it eh

It may well be that Diouf’s bile against LFC may have seeped into the Senegalese national consciousness. He’s still highly regarded there surprisingly.
