The thread has become unusable on my iPad in recent days but unremarkable when using my computer. Which kind of makes sense when you compare RAM (3GB vs 32GB)
As was reasonably pointed out to me recently, we shouldnāt have to rely on the forum software to simply ignore something we donāt want to read.
Donāt panic, itāll be over soon. Itās completely normal that more is being posted so close to the election, but itās only temporary. I find it totally ridiculous and quixotic to be upset about it now, one day before the election. It should actually be clear to everyone that things will get better on their own next week.
Judging by what happened in 2020, donāt count on it.
possible, but you know what Iām getting at. Itās just completely normal that things are piling up in this thread. If you have problems with it, you donāt have to read it. It is certainly not a permanent situation.
No issues with loading on my phone. On my computer for some reason they donāt load anyway, just the link in text format.
It might also be because I started that thread. I do agree though, the loading of the tweets and jumping backwards is extremely annoying. I use my iPad normally and itās even more brutal with this device. Not sure how bad it is on pc, Iāll check next time. Elon Musk is ok.
Way back when I was coding websites we used to āframeā off a section so that it reserved a blank space so that the content could loaded after the fact, without expanding the page. It started to not be an issue that coders cared about when people started connecting to faster internet. It would work well with X as the content box is always the same size. The current issue is when someone adds several X links, it expands every link into content. I forget what forum product you use here but there is probably an addon that might take care of this.
iFrames were something @ISMF said he was looking into a while back. They are important on thigs like dashboards where the data in a widget might not load immediately, but you want the layout of the page to remain static even if it loads without all the data ready to be displayed.
Thatās already the case actually. Oddly enough, I have NoScript and uBlock Origin on Firefox, and after the fragile man-child disabled the old Twitter API forcing this change to the iframes, I never saw previews again until the last couple of days.
Iām generally not against banning, but I am in favor of people using good judgment. There is obviously a zone there in the middle where good judgment becomes a little subjective, but Iād rather āsufferā a bit from that than ban things outright.
Banning stuff somehow seems like a defeat to me.
Cant comment on how Tweets are affecting viewing of the US election thread.
In the main menu, itās currently showing over 3700 unread posts for me
I used X for Green Bay Packers / NFL news but couldnāt stay on it after Muskās latest shenanigans. Iāve been using Bluesky but would Threads be a better option?
Anyway Iām against a ban, each to their own and freedom of speech etc.
Four years since your last post?
Welcoā¦ Forget that, youāre a Cheesehead.
Threads is pretty good if your looking for OF girls or escorts, apart from that it is rubbish
Surprised you can count passed a FG Bears fan I presume
Something to consider after losing all the pornbots on X. Bluesky it is then. Thanks for the heads up
Rams, sadly. Check the NFL thread.
Yeah, 4 years. How time flies when you are having fun. Love this site but not one for really engaging.
