Who said that?!?!?
The barrage of tweets from @Magnus overnight has rendered the Middle East thread pretty much inaccessible.
Bravo, mate. (Sarcastic applause)
Hereās a tip: use Firefox with uBlock Origin, that seems to stop me from getting tweet previews at least.
Also, donāt hate the player, hate the game. Iām sure @Magnus would rather use an alternative platform/method of delivering information if he could.
Iāve got a lot of time for @Magnus , but is it really necessary to put 40-odd tweets in one post?
As @Mascot said earlier in this thread, people need to be more selective about what they share from that platform.
Having actually read virtually all of them thanks to the useful embeds, Iād say they were very informative and provided good information. But I can also understand your perspective. The primary issue in this case I think is really that there have been a lot of developments that are rather difficult to distil down to shorter blocks of texts without losing something essential and/or taking a lot more time.
@Magnus is a trusted forum member, who posts useful and interesting content.
If people point blank refuse to open a Tweet because it goes against their principles and opinion that EVERYTHING on Twitter is bad, then fair enough each to their own.
NOT everything on Twitter is bad, and itās so simple to just scroll past what you donāt want to see.
Itās a bit like refusing to watch any channel but the BBC because adverts are annoying, instead of just pausing them and then ffwd past them
I think the original point made was that the way tweets are embedded here it makes loading these pages really difficult because they slow down the loading quite a lot?
Load quickly for me, but I have a Twitter account.
I thought that long post was very informative and spent probably 30 min on that one. I donāt really understand you here. It was relevant updates and explanations to the ongoing situation. Not something you find in the traditional media. I posted another more ligththearted one, mocking the absurdity of the situation regarding the defence and not as serious and informative, but that/,those were very short.
The long post you refer to was one of the better posts I have posted in a few months, I thought. More how I used to post back when I spent far more time reporting on the Ukraine War with updates on ongoing developments. A lot of people appreciated that, but it was too time consuming for me so i eventually stopped
But am I supposed to just write without posting sources, in your opinion ? Then whatās the point ?
If you donāt want to know what is going on, why not just scroll ? I scroll through hundreds of posts here myself.
And I am fairly selective with my twitter-sources, probably far more than most.
I am sorry you feel that way. I will always have a lot of time for you, you know that, but i donāt agree here and I also donāt truly understand why it is bothering you so much. Its mostly just information. Some of it is some what speculative (but I usually highlight that), but most of it turns out to be correct. I only post a tiny fraction of what I read. Not everything that comes across my screen.
In any case, i wish you a good evening and hope you are enjoying yourself and cooking some nice food.
All the best.
I donāt know if everyone experienced the same problem, but I access TAN from my iPhone and that one post caused the entire thread to take ages to load and then crash entirely.
It really detracted from the user experience.
I am sorry. I do not have the same user experience. I donāt know why that happens to you.
But I have to go now. I am visiting a friend.
Take care, Git.
Spend less on lunch and more on a decent WiFi connection?
Hmmmmmm. Lobster and caviar, or @Alright_Now_Legend and @Dane ?
Tough decision.
People who eat lobsters are massive cunts
TAN pretty much peaked in the four posts above.
Iād consider shutting it down. Nothing this good will ever happen again.
Lobster and caviar
Do these not go against your environmental beliefs?
Lobster from Scotland and caviar from France? Nope.
It will at 5:45
Ahem
