I am talking about certain people, who claim to want to read. Next second they are here whining along with you about the evil of twitter.
That’s the point, and if you don’t understand why that is demoralising, then I cannot help you.
If your morale is so fragile that it’s shattered by a few people on the internet, who you will never meet in real life, you’re the one who needs help, my friend.
Just leave it. I am fed up of the bitchy whining. This has been going on for a year now. And I cannot stand the hypocracy and stupidity. It’s not about you, so shut up.
“It’s not about you” , says the man who posted this:
It’s not about you, because you don’t fucking read that thread anyway, you idiot. Should be simple to figure out, cannot fathom how you failed. What is wrong with your brain today ? You get simple logic, right ? Piss off !
If you cannot figure out I am fed up and pissed off given the hints I have already given then, then you are an idiot and I thougth you were not.
Good bye for today.
Says the one wanting to silence posts that one individual posts containing information from the narrative of his political position using sources that others may not of seen that shows the counter argument to yours.
And during that section of “debate” you are actually the one who resorted to insulting them and labelling them, as far as ive seen i dont think they have retaliated against the insults, so maybe you either need to wind your neck in with regards to the insults and either engage in what they are debating or just put them on ignore.
Magnus, peace to you my friend. It’s not ad hominem.
It is a nuanced discussion. People genuinely do appreciate the info on Ukraine you provide, especially as the war has almost dropped out of coverage via other news sources.
Beyond that, there is a discussion to be had as to how and when twitter/x should be used/welcomed. It is a cesspit, and there is a lot of misinformation on there. It has become a megaphone for the tearing down of norms that have allowed society to function, and as such, has been a huge contributor to the breakdown of the information system we have enjoyed and largely trusted.
My personal viewpoint is to allow it. In addition to that, it is valuable to gain another perspective, such as what Toro is providing. This last part isn’t a blank check though, as from time to time it turns to trolling instead of good faith discussion from a differing perspective, and that rather undermines things.
Anyway, I think people can mute and scroll, so tactically allowing x should not be a problem for anyone.
For you as an individual, I’m as certain as can be that the wider conversation about twitter/x is not a reflection on you, it is not ad hominem, and many people really do appreciate the info you provide, especially on Ukraine.
Peace to you my good man.
Just to be clear, you’re missing the point altogether.
They aren’t posts containing a particular narrative to put together a particular point. They are a literal barrage of posts that are essentially just their Xitter feed. Any other “source” and we’d be calling it spam, and quite rightfully so.
Also, “narrative” is a very loose word here, because a lot of what’s being posted are shit that’s been debunked over and over again. It’s barely disguised trolling at this point.
Nope, because they haven’t engaged with any replies at all. They’ve just continued to post their bullshit and ignoring all the other posts where they’ve been called out for it.
He’s posting Libs of Tik Tok. That is not a “different politican position”. It is culture war propaganda from a known bad faith actor posted in a way that is more spam than honest meaningful discourse.
The mechanism sort of is, actually. There are some ‘community moderation’ and trust features. Moderators can impose outcomes, of course.
Feel free at any point to refute the content that I post.
My experience has always been that those attacking the source aren’t usually able to refute the content.
Otherwise, it’s just whining by someone who doesn’t like something outside of their media bubble.
Ohhhh fuuuuuuccck you.
If you’re going to me to fuck off, @Limiescouse , at least be funny about it
Believe it or not, we aren’t your fact checking service. Seeing that a source is unreliable or simply a propaganda outlet is a decent shortcut to be able to ignore it.
I read the US politics thread to try and get some handle on what people are actually thinking there. Occasionally, you have made a couple of useful insights, but mostly you have posted poor quality links with no commentary or thoughts of your own.
The question is, what’s the point? If we wanted to read a pile of garbage, we could simply log on to Twitter and read it for ourselves. If you want to highlight a point of discussion, why not go to primary source?
And has repeatedly ignored direct responses to him that have in fact refuted the content he is airing, to the point that multiple people have openly questioned what he’s even trying to get out of his experience by posting so much content with no regard for engaging with anyone.
Which is entirely the point of my revival of this thread, but I’ve been accused of trying to censor him.
Can’t make this shit up.
It’s tiresome to navigate through a labyrinth posts going nowhere (NOT just in this thread). I wish there was a AI/ChatGPT that would summarize the latest posts.
“It’s all a load of bollocks.”
There you go.
