Summer Transfer Window 2022

They did the same with Torres last season. It’s possibly just a reflexive adherence to Pep’s policy of not wanting to keep players who are not 100% on board. It could be that plans are more developed than we know of for landing his replacement and they simply don’t need to move THAT quickly to finalize the deal for a replacement of a role player. But it could also be a bit of arrogance. Not just of their ability to land whomever they want, but also of their ability to deal with whatever outgoings they authorize. They just about got away without bringing in a replacement for Torres and rather than treating that as an isolated situation they might be using it as validation of Pep’s philosophy. Fingers crossed they genuinely have got it wrong and find themselves scrambling to replace a player they absolutely need to replace

They are also insane.

Pep needing one, if not two new fullbacks is beyond self parody. I reckon he ducked out of the Cucurella deal just because he couldn’t handle the “another £50m fullback” jibes that would have come his way.

He should be good there, Roma is more his level. Interesting summer for Roma, let’s see what they can achieve this season.

Jose will do a Jose at some point with Roma.

Dybala might be the spark to start the collapse.

Michal Karbownik from Brighton to Fortuna Dusseldorf on loan.
Moises from Internacional to CSKA Moscow on loan, £900k fee.
Nicolo Cambiaghi from Atalanta to Empoli on loan.
Rayan Raveloson from Los Angeles to Auxerre for £1.5m.
Riqui Puig from Barcelona to Los Angeles on a free.
Braian Ojeda from Forest to Salt Lake on loan.
Benson Manuel Hedilazio from Royal Antwerp to Burnley for £3.6m.
Andre Franco from Estoril to Porto for £3.6m.
Nuno Santos from Benfica to Charlotte for £900k.
Ademola Lookman from RB Leipzig to Atalanta for £8.1m.
Lorenzo Lucca from Pisa to Ajax on loan, £900k fee.
Marlon from Shakhtar to Monza on loan.

Lucca is an absolute monster of a striker in FM22, will be interesting to see how he gets on in the Eredivisie…

Is this his third season? That’s usually the one.

Spurs is Spurs hence why he didn’t even get that there.

£60m

I’m sure he isn’t any better than Tsimikas. No wonder they are after Edwards.

Chelsea legit just spent 60m on a back up lb/lwb lol… He doesn’t get ahead of a fit Chilwell does he?

Only reason I can see them spending so big on a position that was well catered is if Chillwell hasn’t recovered properlly from his knee injury last season

Presumably when and if that happens is uncertain.

Chelsea senior left backs or left wing backs at the club right now…

Chilwell, Cucurella, Alonso, Emerson, Kenedy and… Mourinho’s flop, Baba Rahman, still on a contract!

So Chilwell and Cucurella cost them a combined £105m in two years.

Good grief! He must be in his 80s now?

Could Chilwell perhaps play as a centre back, in a back three?

I guess…if Tierney can I don’t see why not but I think he’s better going forward than defensively.

Chilwell is really good at attacking the box from wing back, using him elsewhere would be a waste of his abilities. Difficult for me to see how they fit him and Cucarella in the same side.

He’s a good player, but 60 million? I’m just happy City didn’t get him, hopefully they end up with nobody.

If I was a Famalicao fan, i’d be more worried about if he is still up for it
