Summer Transfer Window 2023

Do they have a flag unique to them…! :0)

Leverkusen have rejected a €45m bid by Villa for Moussa Diaby and looking for something closer to €60m. Worth it imo.

Wouldn’t it be more to do with Newcastle being our direct rivals.

I don’t think losing eithier guy is an issue just the fact it’s happening now but it does feel we are down the line with enough CM to close one of those deals.

Interesting they’ve gone after players we were probably open to selling.

Good job he’d braced himself.

Middle East is all the same country now, I guess.

shit, right. Sorry

Brecht Dejaegere from Toulouse to Charlotte on a free.
Rodrigo from Leeds to Al-Rayyan for €3.5m.
Romain Faivre from Bournemouth to Lorient on loan.
Jessic Ngankam from Hertha to Eintracht for €4m.
Tahith Chong from Birmingham to Luton for €4.7m.
Jacob Rasmussen from Fiorentina to Brondby for €3m.

The Faivre one is weird. Why would Bournemouth buy a £15m midfielder from Lyon, aged 25, and immediately loan him to Lorient?

And then you see that the owner of Bournemouth is also a part owner of Lorient. So basically just using Bournemouth’s PL income to sign a player for Lorient that they wouldn’t be able to afford otherwise.

Should not be allowed.

Yeah, incredibly dodgy. How does the rule about only being able to register for x number of clubs in a year work, does that not apply in this case?

Yeah, I was looking at that deal yesterday. Didn’t notice at first that he was immediately loaned out to Lorient. Very weird. It’s not like he’s a young talent (not that I know much about the player) and Bournemouth buying “stocks” at €15m is just weird (although we might be going in that direction!).

Can be registered for 3, can play for 2. As far as I am aware FIFA/UEFA are still asleep at the wheel on this issue of multiple ownerships.

Red Bull, City Group has about 20 clubs, Watford, Nottingham Forest, Aston Villa, West Ham, Palace, Red Bird (AC Milan) and PSG all have owners who own one or more other clubs too.

Seems the governing bodies are perfectly happy to sit back and let the game become controlled by an increasingly small population of people.

Funny that. It’s almost like the authorities have something to gain by turning a blind eye

There is a rule that a player cannot be loaned in the same window in which he was bought, but given that is exactly what is happening then I assume this only applies within the prem

It does. We’ve loaned a player out the same window we signed them - Keita and Origi for example - but they both stayed in Europe. It’s true you can’t loan to another PL club right after signing them.

I suppose at least we have that most minimal of regulation in place.

City want Pavard apparently

Interesting switch as several places are now reporting Walker has reached an agreement with Bayern over personal terms.

Bayern and defenders in last years, or better to say, right backs. What an absolute mess.
