Summer Transfer Window 2023

“We need a right back. Contact City, they seem to have them all.”

Valere Germain from Montpellier to Macarthur on a free.
Oscar Cortes from Millonarios to Lens for €4.5m.
Tom Krauss from Leipzig to Mainz for €5m.
Lorenzo Venuti from Fiorentina to Lecce on a free.
Martin Satriano from Inter to Brest on loan.
Mohamed Taabouni from Feyenoord to Al-Arabi for €500k.
Lois Openda from Lens to Leipzig for €43m. Lens’ new record sale, Leipzig’s new record signing.

Very nice little 30m profit in the space of a year, especially for a club the size of Lens. Gonna be difficult for them next summer to get close to what they achieved this without him and possibly Fofana but nonetheless I’m interested in watching more of them this season especially now they’re participating in the CL.

On the flip side it’ll be interesting for Fabio to see where exactly he fits in with all the activity Leipzig are doing.

Think Openda will be part of their 4 strikers, if they continue using a 4-2-2-2 structure. Silva and Sesko battling for one, more target man spot. Openda and Werner battling for the other, more runs into space spot. And then the likes of Olmo, Baumgartner, Forsberg and Carvalho for the ‘2’ between the lines/off sides spots.

Jurrien Timber from Ajax to Arsenal for €40m.
Rodrigo Zalazar from Schalke to Braga for €5m.

Did we loan him? Though the agreement was reached in January, the transfer became valid in June.

The deal was made in the summer with a deal for him to stay one more season with RB. There were noises that in the winter window we tried to negotiate an early release so he could help us with our title push, but it didnt happen.

I thought it was a loan - ok have Awoniyi, Arroyo or Allan instead then :slightly_smiling_face:

It could have been and tbh I wouldn’t trust any source reporting on it to get the nuance right on whether it was a purchase with a loan or a deferred purchase. But what is certain is that the deal was done the summer before he arrived at Liverpool and the noise being made in that winter window was about alleged negotiations to bring him over half a season early.

No he is a loose cannon

Callum Doyle from City to Leicester on loan.
Philipp Kohn from RB Salzburg to Monaco for €10m.

Ajax and Dusan Tadic have terminated their contract, he is now a free agent.

My money would be on him going to Saudi Arabia now, especially with Milinković-Savić already there and Mitrović likely to be heading the same way. Ajax going through a hard reboot, it seems.

All these players who are out of contract, who are fairly well known, and have played for a big name club, do u think they will all end up in the Saudi league.

Jesus Vallejo from Real Madrid to Granada on loan.

He’s shit. Hope man utd signs him for 80m.

Just don’t understand the fixation with Ajax players. I realise Suarez came to us from Ajax but that was ages ago.

The so called golden generation which was sold a while ago is middling for the most part at best. Jury’s still out on frenkie. I think he’s a very good player though but at a wrong club. But de ligt , Vdb have been damp squibs.

Inter have walked away from a potential deal for Lukaku.

Wonder where he goes next.

Probably to the buffet.
